What to Wear to a Vegas Pool Party
Las Vegas day clubs are not your average poolside hangouts—they’re high-energy, champagne-spraying, DJ-thumping pool parties where fashion matters almost as much as fun. Think of them as the glamorous younger cousin of the nightclub, only with sunlight, bikinis, and giant inflatable flamingos. If you’re planning to hit up Encore Beach Club, Wet Republic, Marquee Dayclub, or any of the other iconic Vegas pool parties, you’ll want to look the part. Here’s your ultimate guide on what to wear to a Las Vegas day club pool party.
Table of Contents
For Women
1. Swimwear That Stands Out
Forget your “just for swimming laps” swimsuit. This is the time to pull out the fashion-forward bikini or one-piece that makes you feel like you belong on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Metallics, bold prints, or chic cut-outs are all fair game.
👉 Tip: Avoid flimsy strings that might not survive dancing on a daybed while someone sprays champagne. Functional glam is your friend.
2. Cover-Ups that Double as Outfits
A breezy kaftan, crochet dress, or matching sarong set is perfect. You’ll want something that keeps you looking chic while walking through the casino (yes, you will be parading past tourists in your pool attire) but is easy to slip off once you’re poolside.
3. Footwear
Heels? Absolutely not. You’ll be walking, dancing, and maybe even climbing onto a float. Opt for stylish flat sandals, wedges, or trendy slides. Bonus if they’re waterproof because there will be splashing.
4. Accessories
- Oversized sunglasses (the bigger, the better—hello, instant celebrity vibes).
- A floppy hat or fedora if you want to block the desert sun in style.
- Waterproof jewelry—minimal, chic, and nothing you’d cry over losing in the pool.
5. Beauty Notes
- Waterproof makeup is a lifesaver. You don’t want raccoon eyes halfway through Diplo’s set.
- Braids, sleek ponytails, or beach waves will keep your hair manageable after a dunk in the pool.
For Men
1. Swim Trunks with Style
Ditch the old board shorts with hibiscus flowers from your college spring break. Go for fitted trunks in solid colors, bold stripes, or subtle patterns. Tailored swimwear is the Vegas vibe—think James Bond on vacation, not “backyard BBQ.”
2. Shirts & Cover-Ups
A crisp short-sleeve button-down, linen shirt, or lightweight tank is perfect to throw on over your trunks. Bonus points for tropical prints or neutral tones paired with good sunglasses.
3. Footwear
Flip-flops are fine, but sleek slides or stylish sandals look sharper. Avoid sneakers unless you want soggy shoes by the end of the day.
4. Accessories
- Sunglasses—classic aviators or trendy square frames always work.
- A waterproof watch (or leave the Rolex at home unless you’re okay with pool splashes).
What Not to Wear
- Streetwear or jeans: Security won’t let you in. Day clubs have strict dress codes—if you can’t swim in it, don’t wear it.
- Heels: You’ll regret them within 15 minutes.
- Excessive jewelry: Losing your diamond studs in a pool of strangers is not the Vegas memory you want.
- Your hangover outfit: Save the oversized hoodie for the flight home.
Final Word
A Las Vegas day club pool party is part fashion show, part music festival, part liquid chaos. Your outfit should strike the balance between stylish, comfortable, and pool-appropriate. Dress like you came to have fun, but also like you might end up in someone’s Instagram story—because you probably will.
Get Travel Insurance
Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can go wrong on any trip. Be prepared for the worst with travel insurance. We use Travelex or Safety Wing (often cheaper).
Book Flights
I use Skyscanner to find flights. I use it so much, I wrote an entire guide to finding cheap flights with Skyscanner! Another option for finding deals is FlightHub.
Book a Place to Stay
I recommend using Expedia.com or Hotels.com for most hotel bookings. I prefer to book directly with Marriott when I stay there because of their excellent military discount.
If you prefer staying in a vacation rental instead, I recommend VRBO. If you are looking for a hostel, I use HostelWorld.
Choose Activities and Tours
To find great activities in any area I use Viator. If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass, PogoPass, and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available. Groupon also tends to have a lot of local travel deals.
When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar. They’ve got fantastic weekly deals. If going somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean, I use Apple Vacations.
Rent a Car or Get a Lyft
More often than not, Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Use my Lyft link for an $18 credit! For a car rental in any country, I recommend Hertz or Discover Cars.
Save Money on Gas
Upside a free app gets you cash back on gas! Use promo code RV2Q2 to get an extra 15¢/gal bonus on your first purchase.
Get a Visa
I use iVisa to get all of my Visas.
