Having fine hair doesn’t mean you’re stuck with lackluster locks. With the right haircut, you can create the illusion of thicker, fuller hair that enhances your natural beauty and style. In this article, we’ll explore the best haircuts for thin hair, from classic pixie cuts to trendy asymmetrical bobs, offering a variety of options to suit different preferences and face shapes.

Understanding Fine Hair:

Before delving into the best haircuts for fine hair, it’s essential to understand the characteristics of this hair type. Fine hair is characterized by hair strands that are thinner in diameter compared to other hair types. This can make it more susceptible to appearing limp and lacking volume. Additionally, individuals with fine hair may also experience concerns related to hair loss or reduced hair thickness over time.

Fine hair requires special care and attention, including choosing the right hair products, proper styling techniques, and, of course, the right haircut. The perfect haircut can work wonders in adding volume and creating the illusion of thicker hair. You can also try to reverse thinning hair while also trying out a better haircut. Here’s how I reversed my thinning hair.

The Pixie Cut:

One of the best haircuts for fine hair is the timeless pixie cut. This short, cropped style has been sported by celebrities and is a great choice for those looking for a classic look that suits various face shapes. The pixie cut helps to lift your hair, creating an illusion of texture and volume. It’s also easy to maintain, making it an excellent option for those with fine hair.

The Blunt Cut:

A blunt cut is another fantastic choice for fine hair. This haircut involves cutting your hair to a single, uniform length, which can make your hair appear thicker and denser. It eliminates any excess weight that can make fine hair look flat and lifeless. A blunt cut is versatile and works well with various hair colors and face shapes, making it an excellent option for those looking for a simple yet effective style.

Choppy Layers:

For those who prefer longer hair, consider choppy layers to add dimension and body to your fine locks. These layers create movement and volume, giving the appearance of thicker hair. The uneven edges of choppy layers can also make your hair look more dynamic and full of life. It’s a great way to enhance your natural texture while maintaining the illusion of thicker hair.

The Asymmetrical Bob:

The asymmetrical bob is a trendy and stylish option for those with fine hair. This haircut features shorter hair in the back and longer strands in the front, creating an asymmetrical look that draws attention away from the thinness of the hair. The asymmetry adds texture and dimension, making your hair look fuller and more vibrant. It’s an excellent choice for those who want a contemporary and edgy style.

Curtain Bangs

Curtain bangs are another way to create the illusion of thicker hair, especially when combined with a layered haircut. These longer, face-framing bangs can draw attention to your facial features while adding a touch of sophistication to your overall look. Curtain bangs work well with straight hair and wavy lobs, providing versatility and style for fine hair.

Wavy Lob:

Lob - Low Maintenance Hairstyle

A wavy lob (long bob) is a fantastic choice for those with fine hair who want to embrace their natural texture. The relaxed waves add volume and depth, giving the appearance of thicker hair. The length of a lob allows for different styling options, making it easy to create a variety of looks, from casual to elegant.

Styling Tips for Thin, Fine Hair:

In addition to choosing the right haircut, there are several styling tips to maximize the volume and style of fine hair:

 1. Use the Right Hair Products: Opt for volumizing shampoos and conditioners to add body to your hair. Lightweight mousses and styling products can help maintain the volume throughout the day.
 2. Blow-Drying Technique: Blow-dry your hair using a round brush to lift the roots and create volume. A concentrator nozzle attachment can help direct the airflow for added lift.
 3. Texture Spray: A texturizing spray or dry shampoo can add grip and texture to fine hair, making it easier to style and maintain the illusion of thicker hair.
 4. Avoid Overwashing: Fine hair tends to lose its natural oils quickly, so avoid overwashing, which can make it appear limp. Consider a dry shampoo to extend the time between washes.
 5. Consider Your Face Shape: When choosing a haircut, consider your face shape to find a style that complements your facial features. Your hairstylist can provide guidance on which haircut suits you best.

Best Products for Fine or Thin Hair

 1. Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner: Living Proof’s Full Shampoo and Conditioner are known for their ability to add volume and thickness to fine and limp hair. These products are formulated with a patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA) that helps to repel dirt and oil, leaving your hair cleaner for longer and creating a fuller look.
 2. Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray: Bumble and Bumble’s Thickening Hairspray is a versatile product that can be applied to damp hair for added volume or used as a finishing spray to hold your style in place. It provides a flexible hold and a textured finish.
 3. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray is a cult favorite among hairstylists and beauty enthusiasts. It adds volume, texture, and a bit of grip to fine hair, making it easier to style and giving it a beautiful, lived-in look.
 4. Nioxin System Kits: Nioxin offers a range of hair care systems designed specifically for fine and thinning hair. Their products, including shampoos, conditioners, and treatments, are formulated to promote thicker, healthier hair over time. The Nioxin System Kits are available in different formulations to address various hair concerns.

In conclusion, fine hair doesn’t have to limit your styling options. By choosing the right haircut and implementing these styling tips, you can create the illusion of thicker, fuller hair while enhancing your natural beauty. Whether you opt for a classic pixie cut, a trendy asymmetrical bob, or another style that suits your preferences and face shape, there’s a perfect haircut for everyone with fine hair. Embrace your unique hair type and rock a style that makes you feel confident and beautiful.

Here are some of the key ingredients to look for in the best moisturizers for summer and provide you with some top picks to consider for your skincare routine.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can help brighten the skin, even out skin tone, and protect against harmful UV rays. Look for moisturizers that contain stabilized vitamin C for added skin benefits.

 1. Salicylic Acid

 1. Shea Butter

Shea butter is a natural ingredient that provides intense hydration without clogging pores. It is great for soothing and nourishing the skin, making it an ideal choice for all skin types, including acne-prone and sensitive skin.

 1. Green Tea

Green tea is known for its soothing properties and helps protect the skin against free radicals. It is a great option for those with sensitive skin types and can also help reduce redness and inflammation.

 1. Hyaluronic Acid

 1. Aloe Vera

 1. Glycolic Acid

Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) known for its exfoliating properties. It helps remove dead skin cells and promotes a smoother, more radiant complexion. Incorporating a moisturizer with glycolic acid can help address skin concerns such as dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Choose a moisturizer with key ingredients like vitamin C, salicylic acid, shea butter, green tea, and hyaluronic acid to address your skin concerns and keep your skin healthy and radiant throughout the summer season while preserving your skin’s moisture barrier.

How to Keep Your Skin Naturally Moisturized

Moisturizing regularly, especially during the winter months, can prevent the itching and flaking caused by dry skin and help prevent signs of skin aging, such as wrinkles. You can avoid purchasing commercial moisturizers, which are often full of chemicals and fillers, by making your own moisturizers from all-natural items, many of which you may have in your home already. The oils and fats in many foods nourish the skin when you apply them topically. Many food and plant-based oils, such as jojoba and grapeseed oil, are also sold commercially and can be applied directly to the skin or mixed into moisturizers.

Mix Up a Facial Mask

Combine 2 tbsp. of plain yogurt, 1 tbsp. of honey and 1 tbsp. to 2 tbsp. of cool, cooked oatmeal.
Apply the mixture to your face and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
Rinse off the mask.

Treat Skin With Moisturizing Oil

Shower or bathe before applying the moisturizing oil. After bathing is the best time to do this because your skin is clean and your pores are open from the water’s heat. You may also exfoliate at this time to remove any loose dry skin.

 1. Dry your skin with a soft, clean towel.
 2. Massage one to two dime-size drops of argan, macadamia nut, emu, almond, jojoba, or grapeseed oil into your skin immediately after drying.
 3. Wait one to two minutes for the oil to absorb into your skin before dressing.

Make Lotion Bars

Mix 1/4 cup beeswax, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, and 1/4 cup vegetable shortening in a double boiler or bowl set over a pot of simmering water. You can adjust the size or number of lotion bars this recipe makes by the amount of ingredients you use, but use equal portions at all times.

Stir until the ingredients are melted and well combined. If you would like to scent your lotion bar, add a few drops of essential oil, such as lavender or rosemary, to the mixture. Alternatively, you can add 1 tsp. of moisturizing oil, such as jojoba or coconut for an extra luxurious lotion bar.

Remove the mixture from the heat.

Pour the mixture into molds, such as cupcake pans, small (palm-size or smaller) cake or bread pans, or clean yogurt cups.

Allow the bars to cool until hardened.

Turn the molds upside-down to release the lotion bars. If you have difficulty, tap the molds gently, run a butter knife around the edges, or sit them in warm water for a few moments. Repeat as necessary until the lotion bars release from the molds.

Rub a bar between your hands to warm it and moisturize as needed.

Tips & Warnings

You can purchase beeswax at some craft stores, from your local beekeeper or online.

Add a few drops of vitamin E oil to your moisturizing regimen. Vitamin E oil may soften skin and improve its appearance with repeated use. Some potential benefits include sunburn relief, scar and stretch mark minimization. Moisturized skin starts from the inside, so stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Don’t apply anything to your skin that you know you could not eat. That is to say, if you’re allergic to almonds or avocados, do not use them as topical moisturizers. You may have an allergic reaction when the food comes in contact with your skin.

If your skin is sensitive or if your skin dryness is accompanied by redness or a rash, consult a doctor or dermatologist before applying oils or other skin treatments.

Let’s talk about something no one really preps you for when you’re younger and carefree and your metabolism still works: thinning hair. Fun, right? Just one more glamorous perk of aging—right up there with random chin hairs, night sweats, and the slow betrayal of every joint in your body. But hair thinning? That one hit me hard.

It all started back in 2020, which was already a garbage fire of a year thanks to my pos ex-husband and Covid. But on top of global chaos, my oldest child was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Yep. Nothing like extreme stress and trauma to really kick your hair follicles into retreat mode. Thanks, cortisol.

Since then, it’s been me vs. my scalp in a battle of wills—and I’m not saying I’ve totally won, but let’s just say I’ve mounted a solid comeback tour. If you’re also noticing more hair in the shower drain than on your head, here’s what’s actually helped me slow it down, reverse some of it, and keep my sanity along the way (mostly).

1. Supplements, Vitamins & Me Turning Into a Walking GNC

Hair vitamins

I’ve popped more supplements than a fitness influencer during a brand deal, and I have opinions. I’ve tried biotin (my favorite so far is Hair Abundance), collagen (gross but worth it, I add it to my coffee), and enough B-complex to light up Las Vegas.

But the real MVP? NAD+.

If you haven’t heard of it, NAD+ is basically like Red Bull for your cells. It supports cellular repair, energy production, and—bonus—hair regrowth. Since I added it to my supplement routine, I noticed stronger, shinier hair, better skin, and a little more “hey girl” in my step. This is ironic because I was taking it for better memory and brain health. You can imagine my delight when I realized I was growing new hair!

Is it expensive? Kinda. Worth it? Absolutely. I’ve taken a bunch of different brands at this point and I’ve even self injected it. Here’s my top 3 based on what I’ve tried.

 • Tru Niagen: Clinically backed nicotinamide riboside (NR). Easy to take, high quality, and NSF certified.
 • Elysium Basis: Combines NR + pterostilbene for cellular repair with a touch of bougie.
 • ProHealth NMN Pro 300: Pure NMN, third-party tested, no fluff—just serious anti-aging energy.

2. Heat Damage? Not on My Watch (Anymore)

I used to fry my hair like it owed me money. Blow dryers, curling irons, straighteners—you name it, I was wielding it like I was prepping for the Met Gala. Every. Single. Day.

But eventually I realized I was basically slow-roasting my hair into oblivion. So, I made a shift: less heat, more health.

I cut way back on heat styling. I switched to a hair dryer that’s gentler on my strands (no, it’s not Dyson-priced, but it feels fancy), and I started embracing my natural curls with the help of curl creams and styling products.

Especially when I travel somewhere humid and glorious like Mexico or Panama, I let the curls run wild and free. They love the humidity—unlike my thighs in shorts.

Here are three hair dryers that are easier on your hair:

 • Dyson Supersonic: Pricey but worth every penny. Measures air temp 40x/second to prevent heat damage. Fast, quiet, sleek—basically the Tesla of hair dryers.
 • Shark HyperAIR: A fantastic Dyson dupe with smart heat control and curl-friendly attachments. Great for reducing frizz and drying fast without the sizzle.
 • T3 AireLuxe: Luxe and gentle with ionic tech to boost shine and tame static. Five heat settings, gorgeous design, and it won’t roast your curls.

3. Hair Products I Swear By Now

rahua Voluminous shampoo and conditioner (1)

Like any woman spiraling through a midlife hair crisis, I have tried all the shampoos and conditioners. If there was a brand promising “thicker, fuller hair,” it ended up in my shower.

Some made my hair feel like straw. Others made my scalp angry, nothing like finding out you are allergic to avocado oil. But my current holy grail? Rahua shampoo and conditioner.

They’re natural, luxurious, and they somehow manage to clean my hair without stripping it of every ounce of moisture and dignity. I swear my hair just looks thicker after using this. Plus, they smell like a rainforest and a spa had a baby—so that’s a win.

Another shampoo I’ve used I’ve liked are Better Not Younger’s Superpower Duo.

4. Goodbye Highlights, Hello Natural Hair (And No, I Don’t Miss the Foils)

Meagan with blonde highlights (1)

Another plot twist in my hair journey: I broke up with my blonde highlights. After years of bleaching and processing, I finally looked at my sad, stressed-out strands and thought, “You deserve better.”

Going back to my natural color (which I now call “expensive brunette”) gave my hair the break it needed. Less breakage, less dryness, and more strength. Plus, fewer salon bills, and who doesn’t love a little extra cash for wine?

5. The Brush Is Dead to Me—Long Live the Hair Pick

I used to brush my hair like I was trying to win a gold medal in detangling. Turns out, all that brushing was just snapping off what little hair I had left.

Now? I’m a proud hair pick convert. It’s gentler, causes less breakage, and actually helps keep my curls and waves looking voluminous instead of sad and stringy. It’s a little switch, but it made a big difference.

6. Glutaryl Spray: My Secret Weapon Against Stress (And Possibly Life Itself)

Glutaryl spray

Stress = hair loss. We know this. I’ve lived it.

But my daily secret weapon for combating stress and, hopefully, keeping my remaining hair attached to my head is Glutaryl spray, a transdermal glutathione. It’s basically a fancy antioxidant you spray on your skin that helps your body detox, fight inflammation, and chill out.

I use it daily—especially when I feel the “I’m about to scream into a pillow” vibe creeping in. I don’t know if it’s magic or science or both, but I’ll take it.

A Gentle Reminder: This Is a Marathon, Not a Blowout

Hair doesn’t bounce back overnight (trust me, I’ve waited). But over time, with consistency and a few tweaks, you really can make progress.

If you’re dealing with thinning hair, just know you’re not alone. Whether it’s stress, hormones, age, or just bad luck, it sucks—but it’s also something you can tackle.

You might not go back to your 22-year-old Pantene commercial days, but you can absolutely grow stronger, thicker, healthier hair. And who knows, you might even learn a thing or two about loving the version of you that’s grown through it all (gray hairs, wild hormones, and all).

Do You Have a Hair-Loss Hero?
Drop your favorite tip, product, or sanity-saving ritual in the comments—I’m always up for trying something new (except bangs. I’ve learned my lesson.)

Until then, I’ll be over here with my Rahua shampoo, NAD+, hair pick, curl cream, and Glutaryl spray—fighting the good follicle fight one day at a time.

On my most recent trip to Los Cabos, one of the other journalists asked for my skincare routine. I promised I would get it to her. When I sat down to write it all up I realized this was a lot of information, way more than I realized. So, I decided to share it here with you too!

Morning Skincare Routine

I have products I use in the morning, and then completely different products I use at night. Here they are.

Face WashFace Cleansers

If I am traveling, I often use St. Ives Apricot Acne Scrub in the morning, it’s super cheap. My skin does not like traveling. Depending on where I am going, it can be dry or humid, and it doesn’t take long before my face is breaking out. I keep hoping I will get old enough, this is not an issue. Having this on hand to give my face a quick scrub helps my face adjust to the climate. At least I think it does! It may seem weird, but I swear by it.

If I am at home, I use a few different things. I’ve used L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Cleansing Foam for years, and I also use Orogold White Gold 24K Anti Aging Facial Cleanser and AHAVA Refreshing Cleansing Gel on a semi-regular basis.

When I use any of these, I use a little device, a LUNA mini2, to wash my face. I don’t really know how to explain it, so I am copying the wording they use to describe it. “The LUNA mini2 uses the power of T-Sonic pulsations to effectively cleanse deep below the skin’s surface. It is suitable for all skin types.” You can buy a Foreo mini on Amazon or on Foreo.

Toner

I do use toner every day after I wash my face. I use Glamglow Supertoner Exfoliating Acid Solution. It smells like licorice, so as long as that is not an issue for you, this is an amazing toner. The smell doesn’t bother me at all, and to be honest, I like the smell. In a weird way, it helps me wake up in the morning. I already had a toner I felt like I was sold on for life, but after trying this one, I switched. This product contains six skin-friendly acids including lactic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid.

MoisturizerDaily moisturizer

lavelier Marine Deep Moisturizer: Rich in ingredients known to moisturize the skin, like safflower seed oil, shea butter, aloe leaf extracts, and more. It also contains vitamins A and E that help make your skin appear smoother and more radiant.

Loreal REVITALIFT: Pro-Retinol A and Par-Elastyl increase firmness and reduce signs of aging around the fragile eye area.

Eye Cream – Dark Circle TreatmentDark Circle eye creams

I have horrendous dark circles because my allergies are awful. I have three things I use for them.

Truffoire Black Truffle Instant Repair Syringe: You only need a little bit and you gently tap on the cream until it seeps well into the skin under your eyes. Use it every day for one week and then once a week every week. It tightens loose skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.

Aveda Energizing Eye Cream: A plant energy complex gives the skin a boost, helping increase energy in the cells to help brighten the skin around your eyes, while licorice root—known for its soothing properties in Ayurveda, the ancient healing art of India—helps diminish the appearance of dark circles. Gently smooth it under your eyes using your ring fingers.

Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More Baggage Eye Gel: This eye gel uses Filmatrix technology algae and plant extracts to form an invisible, smooth second-skin film. Peptides restore the look of elasticity and brighten the under-eye. In the morning after applying an eye moisturizer, warm a tiny amount between fingers and gently pat directly on bags and dark circles. For best results, let it dry in between applications and reapply as needed.

Red Light Therapy

I have two at-home red light therapy devices. The one I use the most is the hand-held Empire Tech Marvelous 25K Gold Skincare Revolution. The other one I use is a RejuvaliteMD by Trophy Skin. Red light therapy helps reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. Helps with sun-damaged skin and can improve facial texture.

Once a week MicrodermabrasionMicrodermabrasion

Once a week or every other week I use a certain type of microdermabrasion product. There are two I use, Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel Exfoliant for Dry and Flaky Skin and White Gold 24K Multi-Vitamin Deep Peeling Facial Exfoliator. They both work the same way. You use however much you need to cover your whole face and you just rub in on clean dry skin and you will quickly remove dead skin.

Makeup RemoverNighttime makeup remover cleansers

At night the first thing I do is remove my makeup. I use a few different products depending on if I am traveling or at home. If I am traveling I use makeup remover wipes. I’ve used all kinds over the years and the ones with makeup wipes with retinol are my favorite.

At home, I also use makeup wipes if I am being lazy, but if I am really taking care of myself I use Abolene (super cheap $9.74). You put it all over your face and then wipe it off with a tissue.

Eye Makeup Remover

The next thing I do is finish taking off my eye makeup because it always seems to hang on! At home and when traveling, I use Vaseline to remove my eye makeup. It’s cheap and works great.

Make sure your eye makeup is completely gone: start by taking some Vaseline on your finger and gently massaging in circles around the eyes – this will help break down those pesky mascara. When you’re done, just take a tissue to wipe away any excess product!

Vaseline keeps your skin hydrated, soft, and smooth! With its anti-aging properties, it can help retain moisture while preventing dryness in your eyes as well. If you apply a good amount of this jelly every day on eyelashes, they become thicker in time. Plus – unlike other products out there – there is little chance for any reaction and it won’t clog your pores.

Nighttime Skincare Routine

Best Nighttime Skincare productsNighttime Serum

This revolutionary antioxidant serum works its magic with natural Radish Root, Honeysuckle and Aspen Bark extracts – combining their strengths to protect against environmental stressors that can cause premature aging. Auro GSHℱ Antioxidant Delivery System is a unique blend of adaptogens and antioxidants that work together with its patented technology for maximum absorption so you can wake up feeling refreshed.

Nighttime Lip Balm

Right before I go to sleep I apply Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. This is a leave-on lip mask that delivers intense moisture and antioxidants while you sleep with Berry Fruit Complexℱ, Murumuru seed, and Shea butter.

Sleep Mask

I always sleep with a silk sleeping mask. Silk is supposed to help prevent wrinkles. If you don’t want to wear a sleep mask you could consider a silk pillow case. If you have an acne-prone teen a silk pillowcase can help them too.

Kami Pad

The Kami Pad is an organic anti-wrinkle pad that you can put on your forehead to prevent future wrinkles & works toward reducing existing wrinkles, pigmentation from sun damage, and scars. They also have one that you can place on your chest which is an area that is often ignored, but really shows your age. I wear both while I sleep. For your chest, you could use Bravity too.

My morning skincare routine and my nighttime skincare routine has been an invaluable tool to keep my skin looking vibrant and hopefully has slowed aging a bit. Taking the time to nourish, cleanse, and protect your skin can help you stay looking your best for many years to come. With a bit of effort each day, you can maintain a healthy glow and make sure that your skin stays fresh and moisture-balanced.

While there are many personal care choices we all must make when it comes to finding the right products for our unique needs, it’s important to persist in finding the perfect fit. A dry scalp can occur when harsh shampoos and styling products are used on the hair, or when these products are not thoroughly rinsed from the scalp. Many people who believe they have dandruff actually suffer from a dry, flaky scalp caused by the buildup of dead skin cells and shampoo and conditioner residue. Hormonal and environmental factors can aggravate an already dry scalp, and in some cases, the condition may stem from a lack of essential fatty acids in the diet.

Eating a balanced diet, practicing proper hygiene, and using effective dry scalp home remedies can help you get rid of the problem naturally. Use gentle shampoos and leave-in conditioner in your hair care routine, preferably hypoallergenic and without harsh ingredients, and avoid harsh hairstyling hair care products to ensure your symptoms don’t return and you don’t damage your hair follicles that can lead to hair loss. Always consult your doctor if your symptoms become worse, or if you develop swelling, redness, or severe pain, as this may be an indication of a more serious problem, such as scalp psoriasis.

Vinegar Rinse for Dry, Itchy Scalp for scalp care

Make a Moisturizer For Dry Scalp

Vinegar rinses such as the one below are beneficial for a dry scalp, as they help restore natural acids, balance pH levels, and remove buildup left behind by hair products, shampoos, conditioners, gels, product buildup and other styling products. If the smell of apple cider vinegar doesn’t appeal to you, don’t worry; the use of essential oils reduces the odor, and the scent won’t linger after rinsing on your natural hair. So for a healthy scalp and different hair types you can use these tips:

Ingredients:

 • dried herbs (see suggestions below)
 • apple cider or white wine vinegar
 • essential oil (see suggestions below)

Directions:

1. Fill a quart-sized jar about halfway with dried herbs. Completely cover the herbs with apple cider or white wine vinegar, and secure the lid tightly on the jar. Place the jar in a warm spot, shaking once or twice daily, for three to four weeks.

2. Strain the mixture through a piece of cheesecloth folded in half or a fine-mesh strainer. Add five to 10 drops of essential oils and one cup water to the mixture, and transfer to a plastic storage bottle. Store in the shower for up to one week and shake well before each use.

3. To use, pour the vinegar rinse slowly over your scalp and through your hair after shampooing and rinsing as usual. Massage into the scalp, rinse with warm water, and if you can stand it, follow with a cold water rinse to stimulate the scalp.

Essential Oil Dry Scalp Treatment

Massaging healing essential oils into your scalp can help alleviate dryness, according to A. Dickey, author of Hair Rules! The Ultimate Hair-Care Guide for Women With Kinky, Curly or Wavy Hair. Dickey notes that essential oils and natural ingredients work wonders for treating a dry, itchy scalp by restoring natural oils. The massage itself opens clogged pores, rejuvenates the scalp dried from poor circulation, and corrects damage done by over-shampooing.

For the best results, place three to four drops of essential oil (see suggestions below) into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together. Massage the oil into your scalp thoroughly, allow it to remain for at least 30 minutes, and then rinse with cool water. Shampoo with a gentle shampoo and follow with a vinegar rinse, if desired. Perform this treatment two to three times a week to help moisturize your scalp.

Herbal Rinse for Dry, Flaky Scalp

Conditioning herbs, such as thyme, comfrey, or calendula (see suggestions below for more), can also help reduce dry scalp. Herbal rinses make a good alternative to vinegar rinses for individuals that can’t abide the smell of vinegar. To make, bring two cups water to a rapid boil, and add four tablespoons dried herbs. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to steep for at least 10 minutes. Strain and allow the liquid to cool.

To use, pour half the herbal rinse over your clean, damp hair, and massage into your scalp gently. Do not rinse. Store the leftover rinse in a covered container or bottle in the refrigerator for up to three days. For the best results, repeat the treatment daily after shampooing your hair as usual. Continue until your dry scalp subsides.

Olive Oil Dry Scalp Leave-In Treatment

According to Nancy Evelyn in her Pocket Guide to Herbal First Aid, olive oil is one of the best natural remedies for a dry scalp. It moisturizes the scalp, prevents dryness and flaking, and can act as a carrier for healing essential oils. Warm about a quarter cup of olive oil in a saucepan over low heat or in the top of double boiler. Add five or six drops of essential oil, if desired. Massage into your scalp, cover with a plastic shower cap, and leave on for at least an hour. Rinse with cool water, and shampoo to remove any remaining oil residue.

Giving a Scalp Massage

Many natural treatments for a dry scalp require massage, and the proper technique is necessary to yield the best results. When performed properly, a daily five- to 10-minute scalp massage can promote blood flow to the scalp, which may help reduce dryness, and it also enhances the overall quality of your hair.

If you don’t have access to oils and vinegar, a simple scalp massage may help reduce itching and flaking when used consistently. To give a good massage, use your fingertips to work over the surface of your scalp, including the temples and back of your head. Apply pressure and move in small, circular motions. Continue for at least five minutes and up to 10 minutes at least once a day.

Herbs for a Dry Scalp

The following herbs can be used in any homemade dry hair and scalp treatment. They help moisturize the scalp, balance pH level and reduce itching, flaking and dryness.

 • thyme
 • calendula
 • comfrey
 • witch hazel
 • rosemary
 • burdock
 • yarrow
 • red clover
 • aloe vera
 • stinging nettle

Essential Oils for Dry Scalp

The following essential scalp oils can be added to homemade dry scalp remedies, or used for healthy hair growth. Dilute two to three drops essential oil in one tablespoon carrier oil such as sweet almond, olive, apricot kernel, batana, or grapeseed oil, and then massage into the sensitive scalp, or use in the recipes listed above.

Best Products You Can Purchase for Dry Scalp

When shopping for the right treatment, it’s essential to read the ingredients list to ensure that you are using a product that will not counteract its benefits. I suggest trying an anti-dandruff shampoo that contains pyrithione zinc, which provides a gentle formula and soothes dry and itchy scalps. This ingredient is known to counter dandruff shampoo and has been scientifically proven to be effective in treating dry scalp.

 1. Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo: This shampoo contains coal tar, which helps to relieve dryness and itching of the scalp. It’s especially useful for conditions like dandruff and psoriasis.
 2. Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care Shampoo: This popular shampoo contains pyrithione zinc, which can help soothe a dry, itchy scalp and combat dandruff.
 3. Aveeno Scalp Soothing Oat Milk Blend Shampoo: Aveeno’s oat-based products are known for their gentle and soothing properties. This shampoo is designed to moisturize and calm a dry, itchy scalp.
 4. Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo: Nizoral contains ketoconazole, an antifungal ingredient that can help treat dry scalp conditions caused by fungi. It’s effective for dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
 5. Dove DermaCare Scalp Anti-Dandruff Shampoo: Dove’s DermaCare line is designed to moisturize the scalp while treating dandruff. It’s a good option for those with dry scalps.
 6. Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo: This shampoo is specifically designed to soothe and moisturize a dry, itchy scalp while helping to control flakiness.
 7. Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo: This product not only hydrates the scalp but also includes exfoliating properties to remove dead skin cells and flakes.
 8. Eucerin DermoCapillaire Calming Urea Scalp Treatment: This product is designed to provide intense hydration and relief to dry, itchy scalps. It contains urea, which is effective at retaining moisture.

Remember that everyone’s scalp is unique, and the best product for you may vary depending on your specific needs and the underlying causes of your dry scalp. It’s a good idea to consult with a dermatologist if you have persistent or severe dry scalp issues to determine the best course of action and products for your specific condition.

]]>
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, wrinkles tend to develop around the age of 40 or 50. Although wrinkles are a typical side effect of aging, their formation can be frustrating and embarrassing, especially if they develop deeply on the chest. This makes it important to understand exactly why and how wrinkles occur– and how they can be treated and prevented.

The Mayo Clinic notes that wrinkles can form deep furrows or crevices in any area of the skin, including the chest. The skin of the chest can also be thinner and less firm than in previous years, making the deep wrinkles even more noticeable. In addition, the skin may appear less elastic and resilient. It may also look and feel drier than when you were younger.

Causes

Wrinkles, even deep chest wrinkles, are a normal process of aging and less production of collagen. As the skin cells age, fat, and oil production begins to diminish, allowing wrinkles and saggy skin to form. Genetics also play a part in deep chest wrinkles. The MedlinePlus website explains that certain environmental factors such as lifestyle changes, chemical exfoliants, cigarette smoke, and excessive sun exposure can also contribute to wrinkles, deep creases, and chest lines and can even cause them to occur prematurely changing the skinĂs appearance.

Remedies

To treat deep chest wrinkles, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends that the sufferer apply moisturizer daily for a youthful appearance. These lotions can help plump up the lines on the upper chest, helping them to be less apparent. A body wash that contains retinol can also be beneficial. Retinol can not only help seal moisture into the skin, but it can also encourage collagen production. A healthy diet, full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and protein can also keep skin healthy and plump.

How to Remove Chest Wrinkles

Chest wrinkles are the skin creases and sagging of the skin on the chest. The skin loses its elastic fibers and begins to sag due to gravity. The most common cause of decolletage wrinkles is overexposure to the sun. The UV rays from the sun speed up the natural aging process of your skin. Other causes of wrinkles on the dÈcolletage area include aging, sleeping position, smoking, poor diet, and repeated body movements. There are ways to help improve and treat chest wrinkles.

Mix a small amount of lemon juice and honey together. Softly rub the mixture on your delicate skin and let it sit for one hour. After, wash it off with warm water. The mixture will help make the skin smoother, finer, and more elastic.

Apply extra virgin olive oil gently to your chest before you go to bed at night. Extra virgin olive oil can heal the skin tissues, cells and slow the aging process of your skin.

Talk to a dermatologist about using a chemical peel on your chest to reduce and fade your wrinkles. Chemical peels burn the outer layers of the skin and allow new skin to regrow back where the old wrinkled skin was burned off.

Consult a doctor or dermatologist about the procedure called dermabrasion. Dermabrasion involves a doctor using a quickly rotating brush to remove the outer layer of the skin. This allows a new wrinkle-free layer of skin to regrow back on your chest.

Ask a qualified doctor or dermatologist about laser resurfacing to remove your outer layer of chest wrinkles. Laser resurfacing involves a doctor using a laser to destroy your outer layer of skin while heating under layers of skin to stimulate new skin growth.

Tips and Warnings

Consult your doctor for medical advice before you try and treat yourself. Try the natural methods first before resorting to the expensive procedures. Everyone is unique and not every method will work for every person. Medical procedures involve some risk of further scarring or damages to your skin.

Prevention and treatment options

To prevent future deep chest wrinkles, it is important that the sufferer stay out of the sun. She should always wear protective clothing to shield her chest from the harmful rays of the sun. If wearing clothing is not practical, such as when swimming, she should be sure to wear sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Because smoking can contribute to the formation of new wrinkles, it is important for a smoker to find an effective way to quit.

How To Stop Cleavage Wrinkles – A Skincare Routine

As you age, natural biological factors cause the chest skin to become thinner, dryer, and less vibrant. The skin’s structural components–the proteins elastin and collagen– also begin to deteriorate. These changes result in the formation of creases and wrinkles in the skin texture.

External factors, such as excessive sun exposure and sun damage, smoking, and improper nutrition, can also contribute to wrinkled skin and less elasticity. Because the decolletage area is frequently exposed to the elements and often overlooked when applying sunscreen, the skin on the chest is particularly vulnerable to the development of wrinkles. There are several preventive steps, however, that you can take to delay the onset of wrinkles on the chest.

At night you can wear a Bravity to prevent wrinkles.

Apply a daily moisturizer to your skincare routine to the decolletage area.

Keep the area well-hydrated with a moisturizer, which can help plump dry skin cells and lock water in the skin. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that you choose a moisturizer with a proven anti-aging ingredient, such as retinoic acid or alpha hydroxy acids to increase blood flow. My favorite decolletage night cream right now is Prai Beauty Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme Intensive Gold+.

Prai Beauty Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme Intensive Gold+.

Avoid excess sun exposure.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the ultraviolet rays of the sun break down existing collagen and elastin fibers and inhibit the production of new collagen in the cleavage area. Choose a broad sun protection spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen and apply it to the chest area before heading outside. Alternatively, wear protective clothing that covers the decolletage area when outdoors. Refrain from using tanning beds or lamps, as well.

Limit your sugar intake.

When glucose from sugar consumption hits your bloodstream, it connects to proteins and forms advanced glycation end products, or AGEs. These molecules can cause the skin’s collagen and elastin fibers to deteriorate, which contributes to wrinkled, sagging skin. Reduce your intake of candies and cookies and refined sugars. Limit white bread, white pasta, white rice, and other refined products, as well, because these products turn to glucose in the bloodstream. Opt for whole-grain bread, whole-grain pasta, and brown rice, instead. Read food labels and avoid products that contain high amounts of corn sweetener, corn syrup, or sucrose.

Have microdermabrasion treatments performed on the chest.

A microdermabrasion procedure uses an abrasive substance to exfoliate the top thinner skin layer of the epidermis. The treatment increases the effectiveness of anti-aging topicals that you are currently using by allowing them to penetrate the skin more easily. It also increases collagen production in the skin. Schedule a series of five to 16 microdermabrasion treatments, spaced a week to two weeks apart, for best results.

I have an at-home microdermabrasion unit I use that you can get on Amazon.

Warnings

Although wrinkles are not usually a cause for alarm, a doctor or a board-certified dermatologist should be consulted if they develop at an early age. He can help determine the exact cause and offer an appropriate treatment for any skin conditions. The Mayo Clinic warns that over-the-counter wrinkle products are not typically effective. In addition, they are not tested by the Food and Drug Administration prior to being sold, making them potentially unsafe for the surface of the skin.

Over the last couple of years, I have had the opportunity to try out some incredible anti-aging beauty gadgets. As well as some other super fun beauty products that are not technical, but still fantastic.

My Favorite Beauty Products and Gadgets

Here are my current favorite beauty products and gadgets. Some are anti-aging, some are massive time savers, and some just make you look awesome.

MicroDerm MD by Trophy Skin

I was sent this at-home microdermabrasion system to use and I loved it. My teens love it too. If you have a teen that has scarring from acne, you will love it too. Not only will it help remove some scarring it will help prevent acne scars. And although it is a touch expensive, it’s way cheaper than having to go out and have it done by a professional.

Buy a MicroDerm MD

Here’s a video showing how it works.

RejuvaliteMD

Another product I tried by Trophy Skin was the RejuvaliteMD. The RejuvaliteMD uses an interesting combination of lights to reduce wrinkles. It’s boring to sit there, but it is a short process. I recently realized I could just lay in the floor and have it above me. Much better!

Buy a RejuvaliteMD.

I wear the chest one under my clothes part of the day or while I sleep. It’s weird when your chest starts wrinkling.

Nira Skincare LaserNira Skin Laser

So, yes, I laser my face at home on a fairly regular basis. The NIRA Skincare Laser is supposed to be the most advanced anti-aging device on the market, delivering fast, professional results in the convenience of your own home and on your own schedule. I use it in the morning after I wash my face before I put on moisturizer.

My mom used this while she was at my house for two weeks. She had a spot on her face that she wanted gone but it would cost big money to have a doctor take care of it. To my amazement, the Nira laster took care of it. It’s completely gone. This is another device that is spendy on the front end but saves you tons of money in the long run.

The NIRA Skincare Laser is the only safe, natural solution at less than half the price of other at-home laser treatments. The NIRA Skincare Laser is the most advanced natural skincare solution that is safe, affordable, and easy-to-use, with NO pain and NO redness and has been FDA Cleared and clinically proven to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

 • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles around the eye, including “crow’s feet”
 • Patented, FDA-Cleared technology that’s clinically proven
 • Naturally renews skin by stimulating natural collagen production
 • Easy-to-use
 • Takes only 2 minutes per day
 • Real & lasting wrinkle reduction

Minimergency Kit

Minimergency KitI was given one of these little kits at an event I attended, Heels and Wheels. I didn’t think much about it, but then my daughter forgot an item while we were traveling and I had this in my suitcase. Sure enough, I had exactly what she needed. Since then I have forgotten other items on two other trips and both times I found what I needed in this tiny kit. I highly recommend keeping one of these in your suitcase or purse.

Buy a Minimergency Kit on Amazon.

Magnetic Eyelashes

These eyelashes are seriously one of my favorite things, but most of them I cannot wear. I prefer these half lashes. There are fewer magnets on them making them way easier to put on. I’ve also tried the magnetic eyeliner with lashes and I couldn’t ever get them to stay on. These are the only ones I recommend.

Buy magnetic eyelashes on Amazon.

Foreo Luna Mini 2Foreo Mini

I balked at the price at first, but came across a mini Foreo and it was much cheaper. You use this little device to wash you face. I don’t really know how to explain it, so I am copying the wording they use to describe it. “The LUNA mini2 uses the power of T-Sonic pulsations to effectively cleanse deep below the skin’s surface. It is suitable for all skin types.”

You can buy a Foreo mini on Foreo or Amazon.

Revlon Hair Dryer BrushRevlon Hair Dryer brush

Full disclosure, I bought this hairdryer for Eden. Then I used it one time and basically never gave it back to her! I LOVE this hair dryer.

You can buy the Revlon Dryer Brush on Amazon or Kohls.

Nebulyft R1Nubulyft anti-aging skincare device

Nebulyft is a MicroRF anti-aging device. It uses an advanced, non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) therapy, called ”RFthera(R). When used regularly it can tighten the skin, reduce wrinkles, and improve overall skin texture. As you use it, it stimulates your natural collagen production by getting down into the deeper layers where collagen and elastin form, accelerating your skin’s natural rejuvenation process. This results in your skin looking tighter, plumper, more radiant, and younger-looking. There were times that right after I used it my skin looked rosy. (In a good way.) Nebulyft can be used all over your face and down underneath on your neck.

To be honest, at first, I didn’t really get it. I didn’t use it right the first few times, but once I got the hang of it, it was great.

Turns out it literally could not be simpler. You put gel on it and treat one area of the face at a time by rubbing it around the area. You set the level to whatever is comfortable for you. It doesn’t hurt even at the highest level. All though it gets quite warm it never gets too hot. As I used it, it didn’t feel bad, but it didn’t feel good either. It just feels like you are rubbing a device on your face because you are.

I highly recommend watching a tutorial video. You are supposed to use it with some sort of gel. I’ve been using the stuff that came with it, but you can also use hyaluronic acid or aloe vera. I don’t like rubbing tons of product all over my face because I am one of those unlucky people that will get adult acne if they irritate their face. So, I was barely using any of the gel and it never quite heated up. It will not heat up unless you use an adequate amount of gel. In the videos, I was stunned by how much gel these ladies had on their faces to use it. I found that you need more than I thought I would, but you certainly don’t need to spread an asinine amount of gel all over your face just to get it to work. Find a happy medium. I was quite pleased that no matter how much gel I use with it I have not had a single issue with acne.

Just for fun, I thought I would throw in two products my sister loves and has reviewed previously for me. I have not tried either of these, but my sister is a beauty expert, so if she says they are good, they are.

Jenu Plus Ultrasonic InfuserJenu

The Jenu Plus Ultrasonic Infuser takes your regular skin products and makes them more effective. You put your products on your face and then use this to essentially push them into your skin. I know that is not the best description, so for a full explanation click on the product name and it will take you to her entire review.

Buy a Jenu at FabFitFun.

NuFace Trinity Facial Toning DeviceNuFace Trinity Facial Toning Device

The NuFace Trinity Facial Toning Device is a device that contours and lifts the muscles in your face to provide long-term anti-aging benefits. Now I didn’t really get the benefit until this last year when I noticed the skin along my jawline doesn’t look the same as it did the year before. Now I understand fully why she loves this.

Buy a NuFace on Amazon.

If you’re like me—a sleep-deprived, single mom who’s spent more time in the sun than a lifeguard—your face might be starting to rebel. Enter the Nebulyft R1 Multipolar Anti-Aging Device, a pocket-sized promise of tighter skin, fewer wrinkles, and glowing radiance. Naturally, I had to try it because why not add yet another gadget to my collection of optimistic beauty buys?

What Is This Thing, Anyway?

Nebulyft R1

The Nebulyft R1 is a MicroRF-based anti-aging device. (Don’t worry, I didn’t know what that meant either.) It uses micro-radiofrequency to dive deep into your skin, stimulating collagen production and fast-tracking your skin’s natural rejuvenation process—all while protecting your skin’s barrier. Translation? It tightens, plumps, and reduces wrinkles while giving your skin a youthful glow.

It also claims to tackle acne and stretch marks. Yep, this little device multi-tasks better than I do on a Monday morning.

Does It Work? A Mom’s Honest Journey

Confession: When I first used it, I was clueless. The device beeped at me like a nagging toddler, and I wasn’t even sure what the gel was supposed to do. So, I did what any self-respecting adult would do—I Googled it and watched tutorial videos. Turns out, there’s a “right way” to use this thing.

Now that I’ve mastered it (and by “mastered,” I mean I no longer stare at it in confusion), I use it at least once a day. Each session takes about 8–12 minutes, depending on how many areas you treat. Two minutes per section of your face, add a couple of minutes for your neck, and voilà!

Pro Tip: More Gel, Less Drama

You’re supposed to use Nebulyft Organic Gel or a similar alternative like hyaluronic acid or aloe vera. I initially used just a tiny dab—because who wants to look like they bathed in snail slime?—and the device didn’t even heat up. Turns out, you need a decent amount of gel for it to work. (Not YouTube-beauty-guru levels of product, but more than a pea-sized amount.)

Good news: Even with all that gel, I haven’t had a single breakout. Bad news: You’re going to need to restock that gel sooner than you’d like.

Nebulyft anti-aging skincare device

Does It Hurt?

Not at all. The Nebulyft R1 has an Intelligent Thermal Control that keeps it at a cozy 107.6°F (42°C). You can adjust the settings, but even at Level 4 (out of 5), it’s comfortable. Some people claim it feels like a facial massage. Personally, I think it just feels like you’re rubbing a warm device on your face—but hey, to each their own.

Can I Use It Everywhere?

Yes! While it’s primarily for your face and neck, it can also work wonders on stretch marks from pregnancy or that ill-advised second helping of pie.

The Cost of Beauty

At $499 (yep, you read that right), the Nebulyft R1 is definitely an investment. But considering the cost of professional treatments or Botox appointments, it might actually save you money in the long run. Plus, it’s waterproof, dustproof, and charges wirelessly. (Seriously, why aren’t all devices this convenient?)

Final Thoughts

Is the Nebulyft R1 worth it? That depends. If you’re looking for an easy-to-use, at-home anti-aging solution that doesn’t involve needles or harsh treatments, this device is a win. It’s compact, effective, and feels like a mini spa day—without the overpriced cucumber water.

But, as with all skincare, results take time. Don’t expect to wake up looking like you’ve had eight hours of sleep and a gallon of water every day for a month (I wish). However, with consistent use, your skin will look smoother, tighter, and more radiant.

So, if you’re ready to splurge on yourself (because hey, you deserve it), the Nebulyft R1 might just be your new BFF. And if not? Well, at least it’ll look impressive on your bathroom counter.

Hollywood waves—the ultimate ode to old-school glamour. Whether you’re walking down the aisle, attending an engagement party, or just casually sipping champagne at a black-tie gala (as one does), this timeless hairstyle screams movie star.

But don’t worry, you don’t need a personal glam squad to rock this look. With the right tools, products, and a sprinkle of patience, you’ll be red-carpet ready in no time. Here’s your step-by-step guide to mastering Hollywood waves like a pro.

What You’ll Need to Achieve the Look

Before channeling your inner Veronica Lake, gather your tools and products. Preparation is everything! Here’s what you’ll need:

Products

Tools

 • Curling tong (the magic wand for your waves)
 • Rat tail comb (for precise parting)
 • Clips (to section off your hair like a pro)
 • Wet brush (gentle yet effective for brushing out curls)
 • Blow dryer (to smooth out and prep your hair for perfection)

Step-by-Step Guide to Hollywood Waves

Step 1: Prep Like a Star

Start with clean, damp hair. If your hair has natural curls, this is your moment to tame them. Apply a heat protectant cream (because no one wants crispy, fried strands) and an anti-frizz product from roots to ends. Try Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother.

This step is your foundation, so don’t skimp—it’s the key to keeping your waves looking sleek and polished.

Step 2: Add Extensions (Optional but Fabulous)

For that extra oomph, clip in some extensions. They create a fuller base for your waves, giving them a more structured, glossy finish. Not into extensions? No worries—your natural hair will still look fabulous; just know the waves might not last as long.

Step 3: Create a Deep Side Part and Blow Dry

Channel your inner Old Hollywood starlet with a dramatic side part. Then, blow dry your hair section by section with a round brush. The smoother your hair is at this stage, the better your waves will turn out. This isn’t a step to rush—smooth hair is the backbone of flawless waves.

Step 4: Section Like a Pro

Once your hair is prepped and smooth, it’s time to section. Using a rat tail comb, start with the nape of your neck. Clip the rest of your hair on top of your head so it’s out of the way. Each section should be about an inch thick.

Step 5: Curl, Clip, and Commit

Decide which direction you want your waves to flow (consistency is key here!). Curl each one-inch section using a twist-and-roll technique with your curling tong. Hold each section on the tong until it’s warm to the touch, then gently release it without disrupting the curl.

Pro tip: Clip each curl with a duck bill clip while it cools to lock in the shape. This step might feel extra, but trust me, your waves will thank you.

Step 6: Brush to Perfection

Once all your curls have cooled (yes, patience is a virtue), remove the clips. Gently brush through your curls with a wet brush. This will transform tight curls into those iconic Hollywood waves. Keep brushing until the wave pattern comes alive—don’t worry, it’ll happen!

Step 7: Set and Shine

Your masterpiece deserves to last. Finish with a flexible hold hairspray like Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to lock everything in place and give it that glossy, camera-ready finish. Add some sparkly hairpins or a chic headband to accessorize if you’re feeling fancy.

Final Thoughts

Hollywood waves are proof that some classics never go out of style. Whether you’re a bride, a bridesmaid, or just aiming to outshine everyone at your next cocktail party, this timeless hairstyle is your ticket to instant glamour.

Now go forth, curl that hair, and prepare for the inevitable compliments. After all, you’re not just creating waves—you’re making waves.

The allure of curly bangs has surged in the beauty realm, transforming from a mere trend into a bold statement celebrated by style icons and beauty enthusiasts alike. The charm of curly bangs lies in their ability to redefine hairstyles, offering a fresh, edgy twist that’s as flattering as it is adventurous. Whether contemplating a hairstyle makeover or simply seeking to update your look, curly bangs present a versatile, eye-catching option. Here’s your guide to embracing and rocking curly bangs with confidence and style.

Can Curly Hair Flaunt Bangs?

The answer is a resounding yes! Curly hair with bangs not only looks exceptionally flattering but also adds a layer of sophistication and style unmatched by straight-haired bangs. Icons like Zendaya, Mariah Carey, and Rihanna have showcased the stunning versatility of curly bangs, proving that anyone with curls can dazzle in this trendy look. While it may require some initial experimentation and stylist consultation to perfect, the end result is undeniably worth the effort.

Choosing the Length of Your Curly BangsBest Bangs for Curly Hair (2)

The length of your curly bangs can significantly influence your overall look. Celebrity hairstylist Ryan Trygstad suggests a graduated cut, shorter in the middle and longer towards the temples, to achieve a balanced, flattering style. For beginners or those seeking a more manageable option, long ’70s-style bangs offer versatility and ease of styling, allowing for a graceful transition into the world of bangs.

Tips for Perfect Curly Bangs

 • Cut Dry: To avoid the surprise of shrinkage, always cut curly bangs when the hair is dry. This approach ensures you can accurately gauge the length and shape that best flatters your face.
 • Regular Trims: Curly bangs demand more maintenance than their straight counterparts. Schedule trims every four to six weeks to maintain shape, eliminate split ends, and keep your bangs looking fresh.
 • Moisturize: Keeping your bangs moisturized is crucial for achieving healthy, bouncy curls. Incorporate a curly conditioner, curl cream, and refreshing spritz into your hair care routine to nourish and define your curls.
