Ritz-Carlton Las Colinas: The Perfect Combination of Luxury and Wellness

We felt like VIPs from the moment we pulled into the Ritz-Carlton in Las Colinas near the DFW Airport. Within the resort’s unassuming exterior we were greeted by exquisite decor, a sophisticated bar overlooking the pool, pleasant staff, and a concierge ready to whisk us away to our room.

We rode in the golf cart past the beautiful pool, golf course, and remarkable sports club — all of which we had the joy of luxuriating in for the next few days on the property. Between exercising, spa treatments, soaking in the jacuzzi, or getting some quiet time in the Club Lounge, we also indulged in delicious fine dining at the Ritz’s various restaurants. Whether you’re an athlete, a foodie, or just looking to relax, you’ll find peace in the high-class pampering at the Ritz in Las Colinas.

We stayed in a spacious room with two queen beds and a lovely patio overlooking the green. On the first floor, the patio also includes a gas firepit perfect for gathering around and drinking into the night. The sunlight poured into the room in the morning, and we savored some amazing room service at the large center table for breakfast.

The bathroom included a deep jacuzzi tub, large shower, and bright vanity mirrors that made the room glow.

A Vast Pool Area for Lounging

Although part of the pool area remained under construction during our stay, the ambience and music prevented us from noticing. We spent much of our time at the pool switching in between the sparkling, cool waters and the heat of the jacuzzi.

If you came unprepared, grab some sunscreen after passing the pool gate. The staff will promptly set up your chosen chairs with plush towels and sunshades. The pool menu offers everything from drinks, to snacks, and hearty meals if you’re looking to spend your whole day poolside.

Hydrotherapy is a great way to boost happy-feeling hormones and strengthen both your immune and cardiovascular systems! The spa is conveniently adjacent to the pool, making it an easy transition into the hot and cold pools, sauna, and steam room.

I received an incredible 60-minute treatment on a comfortable heated massage bed that made the experience that much better. The masseuse kneaded by sore neck in ways I’ve never felt before and gave me helpful tips to relieve my pain in the future.

If you don’t feel like leaving the resort for meals, then you’re in luck. The Ritz in Las Colinas has several restaurants, a coffee shop, a bar, poolside service and room service. Aside from snacking at the pool and enjoying breakfast in our room, we primarily ate at Knife Italian Steak.

I loved the colorful and bubbly ambience at Knife. It felt like walking through some sort of magical forest while the waitress showed us to our table. We tried a little bit of everything during our stay, and the menu did not disappoint from creamy lobster agnolotti, a variety of dry- and wet-aged steaks, colorful cocktails, and rich desserts.

The Club Lounge Even Has a Wine Machine!

One of the most intriguing benefits of the Club Lounge is the wine machine! It contains a few different whites and reds to choose from. It will dispense either a sample, a half glass, or a full glass at the push of a button. The lounge is also stocked with different beers if wine isn’t your thing, or request a drink menu for more options.

The lounge is also a great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, as they have their own kitchen that prepares a small buffet of delicious bite-sized options throughout the day. We also enjoyed a culinary presentation at the lounge where a chef prepared chicken skewers on the terrace.

Try Out Aerial Yoga and Other Exercise Classes at the Sports Club

The Nelson Sports & Club was one of our favorite parts of staying at the Ritz Carlton in Las Colinas. We were in awe of this massive sports facility complete with a running/walking track encircling a vast gym supplied with every machine you could possibly need for strength training or cardio. Down the hall, you’ll find courts for tennis and basketball. Plus, you’ll find outdoor tennis courts nearby on the property.

You can choose from tons of exercise and wellness classes, and we were lucky enough to take a stab at aerial yoga for the first time! We came to learn that it was the perfect activity for people of all ages, but it still managed to challenge us with complicated aerial maneuvers. I would definitely recommend this class or the following barre class. If you have little ones, try registering them for a youth golf or tennis lesson.
