Spa Imagine at Hotel Mousai

Spa Imagine at Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta has an enjoyable hydrotherapy ritual with a steam room, sauna, hot tub, pressure massage shower, and a vitality pool aka a cold plunge pool. In addition to doing the hydrotherapy, I had a massage. I have had many massages and this was the best massage I have ever had. As my treatment started, my therapist told me I deserved this. I was like dang girl you are right! I have a somewhat bad back and this gal got up on the table and dug deep. It was awesome.

I really enjoyed my time at Coral Beach Gem Spa at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach in Cancun, Mexico. I’m sure you can tell from the photo that their hydrotherapy is wonderful. Nestled on the picturesque shores of the Caribbean Sea, this stunning resort spa offers a vast array of luxurious treatments to pamper and soothe your mind, body, and soul. From indulgent massages to invigorating body wraps and rejuvenating facials, every experience at Coral Beach Gem Spa is designed to help you unwind and let go of stress.

Cristallo Spa

Hotel cristallo

For your Italian Dolomites summer holidays, a stay at the Cristallo Spa Hotel will rock your world. This luxurious mountain hotel is located in the iconic town of Cortina d’ Ampezzo which is the gateway to the Dolomites UNESCO world heritage site.

While the spa area has all the regular features (pool, hot tub, exercise room, massage, facials etc), it’s the all-senses, immersive sauna experience really stands out.

The shower procession includes aromatherapy and water stations as you walk over a stone foot massage path.  Then you can take a finnish style sauna where the attendant will bring in essential oil infused ice cubes to place on the hot rocks. With a few clever flips of a towel, the scents and humidity will move to all parts of the sauna.

Through the ceiling high window of the sauna you can see the cold water tank sitting in an elegant garden.  You can elevate your wellness experience with some contrast therapy with an icy dip and a quick return to the heat.

Chi the Spa is a hidden oasis at the Shangri-la hotel in Chaing Mai. As soon as I stepped into the premises, the atmosphere immediately put me at ease. The elegantly designed spa with its traditional Thai decor and serene surroundings was already an indication that this was going to be a great day. And it certainly was!

The staff exuded professionalism and were very welcoming, explaining in detail every treatment and its benefits before we got started. My personal favorite was the Signature Chi Balance Massage – it was absolutely divine! The expertly trained therapists worked their magic, leaving me feeling completely renewed and rejuvenated. Without any shadow of a doubt, Chi the Spa at Shangri-La Chiang Mai is one of the best spas in the world, and I can’t wait to go back someday!

Spatium Riviera Maya at Vidanta Resort

Spatium at Vidanta Riviera Maya, Mexico is delightful. Eden and I LOVED the spa so much we spent half a day here. It started with hydrotherapy where we enjoyed a steam room, sauna, hot tubs, foot shower while walking on rocks, heated lounge chairs, and more. After a busy few days, it was a dream for us to be able to slow down.

After hydrotherapy, we were taken to our room. We shared a treatment room that kicked off with some sort of interesting Mayan spa welcome. Then we had an 80-minute full body massage that was divine. Next time I’ll try the Around the World treatment which incorporates healing traditions culled from Thailand, Japan, Italy, Indonesia, and the South Pacific. Ingredients used in the treatment range from hydrating grapeseed oil to antioxidant-rich red wine.

The spa at Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, Florida is a coast chic meets old-world opulence. We recommend tying the effervescent marine bath and anti-cellulite massage helps combat the deleterious effects of aging on the body. Gemology face and body therapies channel the properties of precious stones (think diamonds, jade, rubies, pearls) to awaken and renew the skin. Choose a 45-minute scrub and massage with sapphires for slimming and firming qualities or go with rubies for anti-aging. After, wash away any remaining cares in the Turkish-inspired hammam.

In Tofino, British Columbia you will find a cozy spa at Wickaninnish Inn with some offerings unlike anyone else. Indigenous ceremonies inspire the multipart Hishuk Ish Tsawalk Awakening (the First Nations phrase means “everything is one; all is interconnected”). The experience begins with a full-body exfoliation using a seaweed polish (seaweed is an anti-aging superfood for hair, skin, and nails) made in nearby Vancouver Island. Next: a hot and cold water plunge therapy sequence. The conclusion: a massage with warm, basalt stones obtained locally.

Kimpton Mas Olas’ in Todos Santos integrates the concept of wellbeing with the intelligence of nature, and the resort’s 25,000 square foot spa has an ethnobotanical philosophy and a design akin to the interior of a temple or sacred space. The Botánica Spa is home to its very own apothecary, and invites travelers to forage for medical herbs and botanicals to create their own signature ‘Baja Blend’ of soaks, oils and scrubs. Treatments are rendered in outdoor nests – go solo or with a partner – with the sound of crashing waves and local wildlife in the surroundings. A shaded relaxation pavilion set within the gardens creates an idyllic area for resting between treatments, or unwind in the Himalayan salt sauna to sweat it out. For the yogis, an indoor and outdoor yoga shala including a rooftop deck with aerial yoga lets you get into your downward dog al fresco. Whether looking to relax your body, mind, or both, find your flow at Rancho’s Botànica Spa.

Dreams Vallarta Bay had the most incredible spa. It started with hydrotherapy which you can see in the photo. This is the same hydrotherapy pool that Secrets uses. (Their sister resort.) Once it’s time for your treatment they have indoor and outdoor treatment rooms. I recommend the outdoor one if you are doing a couples treatment.
