MSC World America Cruise Ship Review
If you’ve ever stared longingly at your computer screen Googling “best cruise ship for families and foodies” then friend, let me introduce you to your new obsession: MSC America. Or more accurately, MSC World America, the latest floating marvel in the MSC fleet that is rewriting the rulebook on cruising.
This isn’t your grandma’s cruise ship (though, honestly, grandma would love it too). Spanning a jaw-dropping 22 decks and measuring more than 154 feet wide, the MSC America is not just a ship—it’s basically a small floating city that’s shinier, tastier, and far more entertaining than most land-based cities. Let’s dive into why this ship is going to rock your vacation world.
Table of Contents
MSC’ America Knows It’s Biggest Ship

With 2,614 staterooms, over 430,000 square feet of public space, and room for everyone and their sunhat, the MSC World America is practically daring you to get bored. (Spoiler: you won’t.) Whether you’re traveling with toddlers, teens, or your best girlfriends on a “we-survived-parenting” cruise, there’s space for every vibe.
And let’s talk accommodations. The ship features a range of cabins, including Ocean View Staterooms with Balconies, perfect for sipping your morning coffee with sweeping views of the sea or watching the sunset in your pajamas. Luxury, but make it accessible.

Foodies, Buckle Up: There’s an Eataly at Sea

Let’s not gloss over this: MSC America has the ONLY Eataly restaurant at sea. That means wood-fired pizza, pasta made fresh on board, and the kind of Italian desserts that will have you swearing off all future diets. (Just pretend the calories don’t count when you’re floating in international waters.)
And that’s just one of the 19 dining venues. Add in 18 bars and lounges (hello, All-Stars Sports Bar with darts, shuffleboard, and a ton of beers and The Loft comedy club), and you’ve got enough variety to eat somewhere new every meal for a solid week without a single repeat. Unless you want to repeat the gelato. No one’s judging.
Family Fun at The Harbour

Traveling with kids? Brace yourself for MVP status. The Harbour is an all-new outdoor venue for families with:
A ropes course (watch the kids pretend they’re pirates)
A Cliffhanger over-water swing ride (yes, over the actual ocean)
A water park with huge slides and playground
Bumper cars
AND complimentary grab-and-go dining for when the little people are hangry.
Basically, it’s a theme park without the long lines or overpriced funnel cakes.
Kid Clubs

And indoors? Say hello to the largest Doremiland Kids’ Club in MSC’s fleet, spanning more than 1,000 square meters! It’s high-tech, immersive, and broken down by age so everyone from babies to teens gets their own fun:
- Baby Club Chicco (6 months–2 years)
- Miniclub LEGO (3–6 years)
- Juniors Club LEGO (7–11 years)
- Young Club (12–14 years)
- Teens Club (15–17 years)
The kids’ clubs are open from 9 AM to midnight, meaning plenty of grown-up time for you.
Shopping, Sliding, and Strolling: The Promenade & Galleria
If you need a break from your 3rd helping of tiramisu (see: Eataly), stretch those sea legs along the World Promenade. You’ll find designer shops, cozy cafes, and one of the longest dry slides at sea—because why not scream for joy and a view?
Then head inside to the three-level World Galleria, where every floor has bars, shops, and excuses to spend your cruise budget before you even reach your first port. I was surprised how high-end many of the shops were. They even had a purse store selling gently used designer handbags.
Yacht Club = Cruise Royalty

Now, if you’re ready to cruise like Drew Barrymore (and really, who isn’t?), consider upgrading to the MSC Yacht Club—the biggest one in the Caribbean. It’s an exclusive, ship-within-a-ship experience that includes:
Enhanced luxury suites (basically floating penthouses)
Private pool and sun deck (no chair wars here!)
Butler service (finally, someone else can unpack)
A private bar and restaurant (so fancy, it practically serves champagne for breakfast)
It’s the kind of vacation glow-up we all deserve.
Spa

For those who define vacation as “being horizontal and pampered,” the spa onboard is a must. I didn’t get to use it since it was just a media preview, but I did get a tour of the hydrotherapy and was surprised to see so many options on a cruise. There was a snow room, Himalayan salt room, two types of saunas, a steam room, jacuzzis, and more. The MSC Aurea Spa offers Balinese massages and beauty treatments. It’s basically a wellness resort tucked inside your vacation.
Final Thoughts: Why MSC America Is the Ship You Didn’t Know You Needed
The MSC World America isn’t just a cruise—it’s a choose-your-own-vacation-epic. Whether you’re after luxury and leisure, wild waterslides and comedy nights, or simply somewhere to wear your resort wear without shame, MSC America checks all the boxes.
So, the next time you’re dreaming of a vacation that doesn’t include planning dinner, cleaning, or hearing “I’m bored,” do yourself a favor and book a cruise on the MSC America. Your future self will thank you. Probably with a cocktail in hand and a swing ride selfie to prove it.
Bon voyage, my fellow cruise-curious wanderers!
