From delicious dining options to thrilling water slides, there’s something for everyone at The Cove Atlantis. Let’s dive into why this resort is so popular with parents and their families.

The Cove at Atlantis Review

The property itself is visually stunning, nestled between two private white-sand beaches. As soon as we arrived, I was impressed by the scope of the open-air lobby, oversized in every way. What was truly incredible to me was that I booked it with Marriott points. It cost me 60,000 points for one night here, plus $67.95, which was the resort fee and tax.

Cove at Atlantis FAQs

1. Is The Cove Atlantis All-Inclusive?
Sadly, no. It is not all-inclusive which is surprising considering how much it costs to stay here. There are lots of restaurants nearby and on-site.

2. Where is The Cove Atlantis located?
The Cove is part of Atlantis. It isn’t a separate hotel. It’s just a separate tower on the main property.

3. How do I get to The Cove Atlantis?
You have to fly into Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau. From there catch a taxi. The ride over is beautiful, especially if it’s your first time in the Bahamas.

4. What is the weather like at The Cove Atlantis?
The weather is great, but the pools are not heated so make sure you pick a warmer month to visit.

5. Is there a day pass for The Cove at Atlantis?
Atlantis does offer a day pass that must be purchased in advance. The Atlantis Day Pass allows you to enjoy Aquaventure water park, pools, and white sandy beaches. You can also see their collection of marine habitats and marine exhibits; dine al fresco and choose from a variety of fine dining and casual experiences; try your luck in the Atlantis Casino, stroll to Marina Village and shop at the Crystal Court Shops!

I checked prices for a random day in January and it was $190.00 for anyone 13 or older and $95 for kids 4 years old to 12 years old. To be honest, I do not think at that price it is worth visiting.

6. Do they charge for parking at The Cove Atlantis?
Yes, there is a daily parking fee.

7. What are the prices like at The Cove Atlantis?

The Cove is the most expensive place to stay at Atlantis. It’s an average of $600 a night.

Winter has its moments—hot chocolate, cozy fires, and snow-covered landscapes that look straight out of a Hallmark movie. But let’s be real: the charm fades the second you have to scrape ice off your windshield or slip on a patch of black ice. If the cold has overstayed its welcome, it’s time to trade the frost for my favorite footwear, flip-flops. Here are seven sun-drenched destinations that will warm your soul (and your toes) this winter.

1. Belize

Naia Resort and Spa on the beach

Forget the frostbite! Belize calls you to its warm embrace with a symphony of coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, and adventures that sound like something out of a child’s imagination book. Snorkeling in Belize isn’t just swimming; it’s like being teleported into a National Geographic documentary, surrounded by a kaleidoscope of marine life. And if you prefer terra firma, the jungle awaits with open arms. Remember, it’s not sweating; it’s your body’s way of saying, “Thank you for the vitamin D.”

2. Panama

Panama City Panama

Panama, where the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal competes with the natural wonders of its jungles. It’s a place where you can hike through rainforests in the morning and explore the cosmopolitan streets by night. Want to feel like Indiana Jones? Visit an indigenous village. (Don’t climb the waterfall! I feel on my face.) Craving for culinary adventures? The food scene here might just make you consider permanent residency. Just a heads up: the jungle might not have Wi-Fi, but it promises a better connection.

We recommend staying at the Bristol Panama in the city or at Decameron Panama at the beach.

3. Nevis: Not Just Another Caribbean Island

Nevis Peak Hike

If the Caribbean was a royal family, Nevis would be the elegant, less flashy sibling who doesn’t need the spotlight to shine. Its beaches whisper tales of serenity and seclusion, while the historic ruins tell stories of a time gone by. Nevis is the place to go when you want to disconnect and recharge, where the only thing you’ll be uploading is your feet on a hammock.

Wondering where to stay? Check out: Best Nevis Resorts

4. Tampa Bay, Florida: Sunshine State of Mind

4-day Tampa Bay Weekend Getaway

Ah, Florida. You might think you know it, but Tampa Bay is here to surprise you. It’s where you can have breakfast with giraffes (don’t worry, they prefer leaves over pancakes) and scream your lungs out on a roller coaster before lunch. The Florida Aquarium offers a dive into the marine life without getting wet, and the seafood? Let’s just say you’ll understand why the pelicans look so smug. Tampa Bay is where winter goes to retire.

5. The Bahamas: Choose Your Own Tropical Adventure
Cat Island Bahamas

The Bahamas are like a box of chocolates for beach lovers – you never know what you’re gonna get, but it’s all delightful. Cat Island is your go-to for quiet beaches where the waves gently kiss the shore. For those who prefer their beach days with a side of luxury, Nassau’s mega-resorts offer opulence and maybe a celebrity sighting or two. It’s a place where the hardest decision you’ll make is between the beach chair or the hammock.

6. Riviera Maya

Riviera Maya Grand Luxxe Vidanta (1)

Riviera Maya is home to what I happen to think are some of the best beaches in the world. Start your trip by staying at one of the massive resorts on the beach like Xcaret Arte, Grand Palladium Kantenah Riviera Maya, or Vidanta Riviera Maya.

If you decide you want to leave the resort head out and explore the ancient Mayan Ruins of Tulum or Chichen Itza, then cool off in one of the region’s stunning cenotes—these underground swimming holes look like something out of a fairytale. If you love marine life, snorkeling in Akumal Bay gets you up close with sea turtles, while the Great Mayan Reef (the world’s second-largest barrier reef) is a diver’s dream. And when the sun sets, Playa del Carmen’s nearby 5th Avenue is the perfect place to shop, sip margaritas, and dance the night away.

7. Costa Rica

See monkeys in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is where you go when you want adventure, wildlife, and beaches—all in one trip. Zip-line through the cloud forests of Monteverde, spot sloths and monkeys in Manuel Antonio National Park, or soak in the volcanic hot springs of Arenal. If surfing is on your bucket list, Tamarindo is one of the best places to learn. For something unique, take a night tour to see bioluminescent waters glow as you paddle through. And, of course, Costa Rica’s motto is “Pura Vida” (Pure Life), so expect to slow down, relax, and live in the moment.

Wrapping It Up

Whether you’re looking for adventure, history, relaxation, or a mix of all three, these destinations promise one thing: no winter blues in sight. So, grab your swimsuit, book that flight, and trade the snow for sun. After all, the only ice you should be dealing with is in your tropical cocktail.

Are you ready to explore one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets? Are you excited for a getaway full of relaxation? If so, then Cat Island in the Bahamas is definitely the place for you! With its stunning beaches, tranquil waters, and plenty of napping spots for both locals and visitors alike, Cat Island offers a unique travel experience that should be at the top of your bucket list. So grab your sunglasses and prepare yourself for some fun – we’ve compiled all the details about exploring Cat Island into this ultimate travel guide!

How to Reach Cat Island

If you’re traveling from the United States, the easiest way to reach Cat Island is by taking a flight from Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Alternatively, you can also take a flight from Nassau, which is the capital city of the Bahamas. I flew from Dallas to Nassau to Cat Island. Once you arrive, you can take a taxi or rent a car to explore the island.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Cat Island is between December and April when the weather is dry and sunny. During this time, you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and partake in activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, and kayaking. However, I went in June and did lots of this so I don’t think it matters when you visit.

Things to do on Cat Island

Despite its small size, Cat Island has plenty of things to offer.

Go to the beach!

To start, you can spend your days lazing around gorgeous beaches like Orange Creek Beach, Bennett’s Harbour Beach, and Pigeon Cay Beach.

Greenwood Beach

Greenwood Beach, renowned as one of the most mesmerizing stretches of shoreline on Cat Island, beckons with its captivating allure. Spanning a glorious expanse of eight miles, this pristine paradise boasts pink sand beaches that whisper tales of serenity. Here, one can bask in the solitude and privacy that only nature can provide, a haven for friends seeking their own slice of coastal heaven.Greenwood Beach Resort

A visit to this resplendent beach is a testament to the allure of Bahamas Island hopping, a voyage that lingers in the heart long after departure. Nestled on the secluded southeast corner of the island, one discovers another gem among the Cat Island Bahamas resorts—Greenwood Beach Resort.

Adventure enthusiasts have an array of thrilling activities at their fingertips, from the adrenaline-fueled rush of kite surfing to exhilarating kayaking expeditions. Crabbing and hiking opportunities abound, tantalizing explorers with the untamed beauty of the land. As dusk turns to dawn, divers descend into the depths, indulging in world-class underwater exploration afforded by this renowned dive center.

Deveaux PlantationDeveaux Plantation

Explore the historical landmarks on the island, such as the ruins of Deveaux Plantation and the former slave village of Arthur’s Town.

Deveaux Plantation’s history is as rich as its lush greenery, dating back to the early 18th century when French Huguenot Jacques Deveaux called it home. On a few of the walls, you can see drawings by former slaves. It’s a sobering reminder of our country’s complicated past, but also a chance to learn and reflect.

Mount Alvernia

Guess who built a teeny-tiny medieval getaway on top of the highest peak in the country? That’s right, none other than Monsignor John Hawes! This dude was an architect extraordinaire, known for crafting stunning cathedrals all over the world. But he decided to take a break from the big stuff and treat himself to a mini monastery retreat. And where did he plop it? Mount Alvernia! Standing tall at a whopping 206 feet, this place is not just a mountain, it’s an architectural treasure. So if you’re into epic views and a touch of medieval charm, come check out this hidden gem.

Rake and Scrape Music

Do you know what rake and scrape music is? This is a unique genre of music that originated from Cat Island in the Bahamas. Rake and scrape music is often played using handmade instruments such as saws, goatskin drums, and carpenter saws.

It’s a heartfelt and lively type of music that has been passed down through generations on Cat Island. In earlier times, this music was performed to celebrate events such as weddings and religious ceremonies.

Even though rake and scrape music has evolved over time, it still remains an important cultural aspect of Cat Island. So, be sure to check out a rake and scrape performance and get lost in the rhythmic beats and traditional melodies while visiting Cat Island.

Healing HoleHealing Pond

To really feel rejuvenated, you gotta take a dip in the Healing Hole – a natural salt lake that’s said to have healing properties. Located on Cat Island, this little oasis is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. If you’ve ever wanted to float in the Dead Sea but Israel is too far this is the alternative. You will float in the water thanks to the high salt content.

Line FishingLine Fishing in Cat Island (1)

Learning how to line fish while visiting Cat Island is the perfect way to dive headfirst (or headfirst-adjacent, depending on your swimming abilities) into the local culture and get up close and personal with the island’s stunning marine life. It’s so easy to do anyone can be successful fishing here. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of casting your line and waiting in anticipation for that first big tug. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even catch your dinner for the evening. I caught six fish which was basically enough for my entire group’s dinner!

Go Shopping

Gift Hands Straw Work and SouvenirsLastly, you can also visit Ms. Ivy Seymour who makes handmade straw hats at her store Gift Hands Straw Work and Souvenirs. Get a hat here before you head out on a boat!

Where to stay

Cat Island has various accommodations to suit different budgets and preferences. You can choose from beachfront villas, resorts, budget-friendly inns, and even camping sites. Some of the popular options include Fernandez Bay Village, Hawk’s Nest Resort & Marina, and Pigeon Cay Beach Club.

Rollezz Beach VillasRollezz Beach Villas

I stayed at Rollezz Beach Villas on Cat Island and I highly recommend staying here. These colorful villas are nestled right on the powdery white sand beach, offering stunning views of crystal blue waters and swaying palm trees. But what sets Rollezz apart from other beach resorts? It’s the friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel like family, the delicious Bahamian cuisine that will make your taste buds dance, and the endless activities to keep you entertained.

Where to Eat on Cat Island

Da Smoke Pot

Da Smoke Pot is a local favorite on Cat Island and is known for its delicious seafood dishes. The restaurant has been in business for over 30 years and serves up some of the freshest seafood you can find in the Bahamas. The menu features classic Bahamian dishes such as conch salad, grilled lobster, and fried fish.

Shannas Cove Resort Restaurant

Shannas Cove Resort Restaurant is a great spot to grab some pizza while visiting Cat Island!

Hidden Treasures

Hidden Treasures is a small, family-run restaurant located on Cat Island in the Bahamas. The menu features an array of local dishes, including conch fritters, cracked conch, and the famous Bahamian stew fish. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a beautiful view of the beach. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making it one of my favorite places to eat on Cat Island.

Blue Bird CafeBlue Bird Cafe

The Blue Bird Cafe is a cozy spot located near the center of Cat Island. They serve up delicious Caribbean cuisine with a focus on seafood dishes. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting, with live music playing most nights of the week. It’s definitely one of the best places to eat on Cat Island!

The Hot Spot Restaurant

The Hot Spot Restaurant is a popular eatery located near the north end of Cat Island. They specialize in traditional Bahamian fare like conch salad and jerk chicken as well as international dishes like burgers and fries. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with great views of the ocean from their outdoor seating area. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for some good food on Cat Island!

Mermaids Restaurant

Mermaids Restaurant is a unique spot that offers up delicious seafood dishes in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. The menu features an array of fresh catches such as grouper, snapper, and shrimp served up in various preparations like grilled or fried.

Conclusion

All in all, a trip to Cat Island Bahamas is sure to delight. With its sleepy, lil’ island vibes, protected beaches, and hospitable locals, there has never been a better time to fly the friendly skies and hop on over to paradise. Between hidden coves and crystal blue waters teeming with undersea life, the possibilities for play are endless. And who knows? Maybe you can find an island friend like I did! So don’t wait any longer – start planning your awesome vacation now! Who knows – maybe one day soon you’ll be putting those swimming lessons into practice off Cat Island’s coastline.

To find great activities in any area I use Viator. If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass, PogoPass, and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available. Groupon also tends to have a lot of local travel deals.

When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar. They’ve got fantastic weekly deals. If going somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean, I use Apple Vacations.

Rent a Car or Get a Lyft

More often than not, Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Use my Lyft link for an $18 credit! For a car rental in any country, I recommend Hertz or Discover Cars.

Save Money on Gas

Upside a free app gets you cash back on gas! Use promo code RV2Q2 to get an extra 15¢/gal bonus on your first purchase.

Get a Visa

I use iVisa to get all of my Visas.

If you’re looking for an adventure-packed and luxurious vacation in a tropical paradise with your whole family, then Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas could be an excellent pick for you. This resort is a place where you’ll find the ultimate Caribbean holiday experience, and all its facilities are specially designed for guests of all ages. There are plenty of activities to entertain kids and adults, which is why Baha Mar is arguably one of the most family-friendly resorts in the Caribbean.

1) Perfect AccommodationsGrand Hyatt Reserve Baja Mar

With a choice of three different hotels in the property, you can select the one that best fits your needs and budget. All three hotels feature rooms that are equipped with family-friendly amenities, such as extra beds and cribs and modern furnishings. The Grand Hyatt is the biggest one, and it’s perfect for large families who want to spread out.

Grand Hyatt Reserve

I stayed in the Reserve section of the Grand Hyatt and wanted to make sure to point out some differences. The Reserve has a lounge with a separate check-in desk. Throughout the day they offer food and beverages. They also give you access to the adults-only day club, Nexus Cabana Club. I tried it out and basically, if you don’t want to pay $650 for a cabana you should go elsewhere.

Every guest of the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar gets (seemingly) unlimited bottles of water for their room.

Globalists perks at Grand Hyatt: Globalists get free breakfast at Regatta Buffet and free parking at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Globalists also receive a welcome envelope that contains 4 tickets for 2 free drinks each up $20 each. The drink coupons are valid at only: Regatta, T2 Cigar Bar, Pool Bars & the Jazz Bar.

Rosewood

The Rosewood Hotel provides a more exclusive and refined experience for those who can afford it. Rosewood features 200 rooms and a handful of suites. As soon as you enter you are treated by elegant walls full of hand-painted murals and a signature scent. The Library

They have a few places to eat and a few bars. The Library lounge can create a tea just for you based on your current ailments and right across from it is the beautiful Manor bar. I loved the Manor Bar’s lemon drop martinis and they had live music one night, which was a nice touch. Just outside the Manor bar is a great place to take pictures at sunset. The background is lovely and you don’t have to walk down to the beach.

Manor Bar at the Rosewood

Rosewood has its own pool and beach and they have their own explorers club with many of the same activities available and a spa.

SLSSLS Baja Mar

The SLS is more youthful, vibrant, and maintains luxury as its core value. SLS rooms and residences are not only stylish, but they also know how to take relaxation to the next level. Picture yourself chilling on a spacious balcony, with incredible views of Cable Beach or even from the inside since they offer floor-to-ceiling windows. SLS does not charge for a fridge.

The lounge chairs at SLS are quite plush making it a great spot to hang out.

2) An Array of Kid’s Activities

Explorers ClubExplorers Club at Baja Mar

Baha Mar Resort boasts a comprehensive Kids Club where children from three to twelve can enjoy supervised activities like arts and crafts, treasure hunts, and educational time like cooking lessons and science experiments. They also have a theater, offer assorted video games, and take the kids outside for nature walks and a visit to the touch tank to see the animals.

They are open Monday – Sunday and offer three sessions each day: 9 AM – noon, 1-4 pm, and 6:30 -10:30 pm. They can accommodate up to 70 – 80 kids per session. You can make a reservation in advance on the website or by contacting the activities desk. If you are staying in the Grand Hyatt Reserve your butler may also be able to make a reservation for you. They also allow walk-ins.

The kids club is included in your stay but if you want your child to be given lunch or dinner that is an additional $25.

Babysitting Services

For those with children under 3 or uncomfortable leaving their children in the kids club they do offer babysitting. You can hire a babysitter to your room or to be a buddy and accompany your child somewhere like the waterpark.

If you do not want to use the resort’s babysitting services then we recommend Tiara’s Babysitting Services, 1-242-812-0150. She even comes prepared with toys to play with.

Sports

There’s also a variety of sports facilities available for children (and adults), including a basketball court, tennis courts, pickleball courts, a soccer field, and a mini-golf course. They offer tennis lessons and pickleball lessons for a fee. There are a lot of green areas around the property as well where you could throw a frisbee or a football.

Baha Bay Water ParkBaha Bay Water Park

Baja Mar offers an epic waterpark experience across 15 acres. You can slide down the towering water slides, lounge in the lazy river, boogie board on their patented wave simulator Flow Curl™, and take on the waves in the wave pool. And when you grow tired from all the excitement, grab a refreshing drink and relax in a nearby lounger. The water park costs an additional $160 per adult and $65 per kid. So try to book a package that includes it!

Rainy Day Activities

Baha Mar Rainy Day Activities

Coming Soon: For older kids, there is a Teen lounge coming soon (October tentatively) with activities like video games, pool tables, and board games. There is also an arcade being added over in the convention center area but I do not know when it is opening.

3) Indulging Adult Activities

Adults can indulge in an array of activities to keep them occupied and relaxed during their stay.

Golf

There’s an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The back nine holes are completely different than the front nine for a unique experience. If that wasn’t enough they will change the course a little based on the wind. So you could golf here several times and never have the same experience. They give you a sleeve of Pro V1s and a nice water bottle with vodka lemonade when you finish.

They also offer the “Better than your own golf rental program” with clubs that are tailored specifically to you. If you need a lesson they have those too!

Golf tip: The fee drops by $100 if you tee off in the afternoon.

CasinoCasino at Baja Mar

They have the largest casino in the Caribbean which means whatever it is you want to play, they’ve got it. The casino connects all three properties which allows you to walk across the resort in the a/c.

Shopping

There are shopping opportunities throughout the property including a shopping area downstairs outside.

Water Sports

Many water sporting activities are also available such as paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, and windsurfing; what’s more exciting, you can even dive with sharks!

Pools Galore

12 pools spread out throughout the three properties. Only Rosewood guests can you the Rosewood pool though.

Art studio

The art studio offers painting classes for adults and kids including a paint and sip. They will even ship your art to you if it won’t fit in your luggage.

4) Gourmet Dining

Baha Mar Resort features an extensive selection of restaurants that cater to varied palates. They possess over 45 bars and restaurants with top-notch chefs and amazing culinary expertise. From beachside dining and seafood restaurants to fine dining with breathtaking views, guests are spoilt for choice. At most restaurants kids aged 5 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult meal.

Dining Tip: Make reservations for every night that you are there. You can always cancel. If you cannot get the time you want make a reservation for any time available and show up closer to when you want to eat, they should be able to get you in. Use the app to make reservations up to 3 months out.

Also, if you like to drink soda consider buying a refillable cup. I believe they are available in several places but the Blue Lagoon bar definitely has them.

Some standouts I really enjoyed were:

CostaCosta at Baja Mar

This Mexican food restaurant has a killer ambiance with seating in a koi pond. It started raining while I was dining here and some how it made it even cooler.

Marcus at Baha MarMarcus at Baha Mar

Fish and steak are the main features here. I enjoyed a filet mignon cooked to perfection. The burrata salad was also a stand out.

The North 25

Here I had the cobb salad with chicken and it was wonderful. I was in a cabana that they delivered to.

5) Spectacular Beach & Outdoor Sceneries

The icing on the cake for your family holiday at Baha Mar Resort is the stunning outdoor sceneries and the beach experience. The resort has over 3,000 feet of white sandy beach for playing beach games, relaxing, or lounging. The chance to participate in water sports such as snorkeling will create a dynamic opportunity for bonding with your family members. You can rent a boat and go to other islands exploring different blues of water or surprise the kids with a feeding experience for the pigs at ‘pig beach’.

Baja Bay Beach Club

Baja Mar Beach Club Cabanas

If you want to take it up a notch, I suggest getting yourself a private cabana at the Baja Bay Beach Club. I’m talking ultimate relaxation with your own little slice of heaven. For $1,000 six people get

  • Lounge Sofa and 4 Chaise Lounges
  • Refrigerator stocked with Evian and other refreshments
  • 1 bottle of premium Rose wine
  • 1 Exotic Fruit Salad
  • Personal Safe
  • Wifi Access
  • Beach & Pool Towels
  • Personal VIP Cabana Server

Plus, you won’t have to worry about fighting for a spot in the shade or sand because you’ll have your own personal oasis. Just make sure to bring some sunscreen, you might never want to leave.

If that’s too rich for your blood consider just getting a single lounger for $100. The fee is applied toward Food & Beverage consumption at the venue, you get one chaise lounger, wifi, and towels. I would recommend starting early and doing breakfast and lunch here. If there are two of you, you can get a daybed for $200 and it’s the same deal essentially.

Have Photos Taken

We recommend Gaby Rguez Photography @BAHAMASPHOTOGRAPHER. She is professional and timely. She gives you access to an album and then you get to pick your favorites and she edits them.

Before the Trip Tips

  • Watch the Amazon Prime documentary that was done on the resort. Watch it here.
  • Pack a suitcase you plan to check liquor and drinks, those are a lot more expensive at the resort. Snacks would be good too.
  • Join the Baja Mar FB group.

Baha Mar Packing Tips

  • Bring a waterproof cell phone case. (on Amazon)
  • Bring some water bottles.

Conclusion:
A getaway to Baha Mar Resort should be on the to-do list of every family. With fantastic accommodation options, a wide array of kid’s activities, plenty of activities for adults, and outstanding restaurants; all amidst a sublime tropical paradise, this resort will keep every member of your family satisfied and full of enjoyable moments. On your next vacation, choose Baha Mar Resort to ensure everyone includes happy memories and looks forward to coming back.

Marriages are the celebration of eternal love, but they can be quite expensive. Even though most people don’t follow through with their plans for a dream wedding due to the lack of funds, they can always plan for a fabulous honeymoon. There are many attractive destinations that the world offers, and that too, in a budget-friendly manner! So, here are the top 8 budget-friendly honeymoon destinations that you can’t miss to consider.

Phuket, ThailandPhuket, Thailand

If you wish to have an international honeymoon, then you will find Phuket to be the cheapest but the best option. The attractions that this city offers are endless, whether it be Phang Nga Bay, Patong Beach, or Bangla Road; they all leave you in awe. You can either enjoy staying in a hotel with a lavish balcony view or taking a walk under the glistening moonlight at Phuket’s silver beaches.

The endless landscapes and islands in Phuket can be easily explored by hopping from one speedboat to another. The snorkeling and diving in the clear blue water of the Similan islands have to be the experience of a lifetime. You will want to add this destination to your bucket list for all the beauty it brings to the table.

5 Day Phuket Itinerary

Bali, IndonesiaBali

Having seen so much content related to Bali, you might think it’s too overrated, but it’s honestly worth the hype. It’s one of Asia’s most romantic and not to forget, budget-friendly getaway. Bali is a tropical island and one which has unmatched beauty. The jungles are enhanced by attractive waterfalls, clear water beaches, volcanoes, and so much more.

It has world-class resorts, spas, and beach villas. You can even customize your date nights in Bali from choosing bamboo cottages, plush tents to dining under a canopy of stars on a magical night. You can woo your spouse right off their feet by spending time gawking at picturesque sunsets or exploring the extraordinary beauty that the island offers. Not only this, but Bali makes a perfect place for ideal photoshoots. Bali is an experience that you won’t forget throughout your lifetime.

BahamasBahamas

The Bahamas is a spectacular honeymoon location set in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean. The best time to visit is from November to mid-April as that’s when the Bahamas Private Islands are best for exploring. There are more than 700 islands to explore, and couples will never run out of places to visit in the Bahamas.

The couples can take long walks along the crystal clear turquoise waters, dine by the beach at Arawak Cay, or even have an adventurous day at The Aqua venture Water Park. Also, the Bahamas offers hidden gems like the Bahamian Cruise, extravagant hotels, and resorts along with an exotic cuisine you can’t say no to.

VietnamVietnam

All a couple wants is to de-stress after a hectic wedding. Vietnam is the perfect location to do just that. It is a place that has something for everyone. It is filled with architecture, crowded streets, adventure, and breathtaking views. Vietnam even has special places such as Dalat: The Valley of Love, SaPa, and so much more for couples on their romantic escapades.

The beaches in Vietnam are incredibly romantic and can be easily used to woo your partner. Other than this, Vietnam offers cave camping, old-world charm, and so much more that you and your spouse won’t forget for a long time!

One place we recommend staying is:

Pullman Danang Beach Resort – Vietnam

Pullman Danang Beach ResortVietnam is well-known for its coastline of stunning beaches and resort hotels. A favorite for families is the Pullman Danang Beach Resort located on Bac My An Beach in Danang.

The luxurious Pullman Danang Beach Resort offers a variety of accommodations including family suites and villas.

Children can enjoy their beachside playground and kids club whilst the adults can treat themselves to a relaxing spa treatment at the Nang Spa. If you are after something a bit more strenuous a workout in their gym might just be the thing for you with aerobics and yoga classes as well.

Free activities include tennis, badminton, petanque, and basketball which are all free to guests staying at the resort.

Song Watersports in the resort offers jet skis, surfing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking. If you are a foodie you can even book an early morning market tour and on your return cook up a storm in their Cooking Classes.

After a full day of activities head to the Azure Beach Lounge for a ‘sundowner’ and a relaxed dinner on the beach.

MaldivesMaldives

The Maldives offers a range of beautiful beaches, most of them still undiscovered. Imagine going to the Maldives and having a beach all to yourself. Amazing, right? The Maldives provides couples honeymooning with a setting so intimate that it is unparalleled.

Couples can easily enjoy the striking beauty of nature at the Maldives while indulging in chosen activities. Whether it is a couple’s massage or a candle-light dinner, the location is set to impress. The romantic couple can also spend their honeymoon exploring marine life, cruising, going for a seaplane ride, diving, or ending the day on a romantic note at Maldives glowing beaches. It’s a place worth visiting.

Here’s one place we recommend staying:

Conrad Rangali Island – MaldivesConrad Rangali Island - Maldives

Conrad Maldives makes it possible to organize a holiday in the Maldives on a budget. One of its greatest advantages is its size, Conrad Maldives is one of the largest resorts in the Maldives. It consists of two islands for guests plus one for the staff, and there is enough space to make anyone feel almost as on a desert island even when it’s full. Accommodation ranges from various types of beachfront villas, directly facing the ocean (with or without a private pool) and overwater bungalows. The larger beach villas comfortably accommodate up to 6 people in 3 rooms.

Of course, it offers a well-organized kids club that will make the adults jealous when they see the kids set off on a pirate ship on an organized trip. There are restaurants for all tastes, 12 different offers alternate during the week from romantic dinners, buffets where you can try everything, and traditional grills, to more sophisticated options also with areas for adults only.

Don’t forget the countless excursions: from peaceful picnics on deserted sandbanks to adventurous swims with whale sharks.

Antalya, TurkeyAntalya, Turkey

Even though Turkey is a beautiful country as a whole, Antalya has something entirely different to offer. Honeymooners often visit the city. It may be a small city, but it is full of breathtaking views. The city provides deep-blue water beaches, cliffs, and attractive waterfalls.

If you and your partner are a fan of ancient ruins, you can even go on a romantic stroll (320-mile) on the Lycian Way and explore them. However, the best part is how all of those, as mentioned earlier and so much more, are extremely pocket-friendly.

Skardu, PakistanSkardu, Pakistan

Skardu is the most picturesque place in Pakistan. The best part? The couples on romantic getaways can get amazing packages at extremely cheap rates. Skardu is a place that has mountains, clear lakes, beautiful resorts, and so much more to offer.

The most famous places to visit in Skardu are Chilas, Shangrilla, Khaplu Palace, Montokha Waterfall, and Upper Kachur. The beauty of Skardu is indescribable and offers a romantic setting to the couples. The couples can also spend time doing boating, camping, and taking gorgeous Instagrammable photos!

In addition to this, the place offers gorgeous sunsets and hiking opportunities. The hospitality of the locals is unmatched, and the cuisine is to die for. It is a place that you and your spouse don’t want to miss out on!

Mauritius and Reunion IslandMauritius

This place is considered as one of the top international honeymoon locations. It is extremely budget-friendly and provides the opportunity of basking in the sun on a secluded beach. What’s better than that? Well, the place offers much more.

The couples can watch dolphins and whales; they can enjoy romantic dates on private islands, do paragliding, chill in a Jacuzzi and even trek up to the active volcano at Reunion Islands. The place offers the best hotels and that too, with breathtaking views. It’s a place you want to visit.

We all believe in the magic different places bring to our lives. In reality, the people we choose to spend time making the entire experience worth remembering. So, if you are a couple looking for the perfect honeymoon, then be sure to select the best among the places above and start your marriage by treating yourself to a soulful retreat and romantic getaway.

The Bahamas consist of 700 islands and 2400 cays, mostly uninhabited. The limited human expansion on the islands means that a lot of the landscapes you are going to see there will be designed by nature.

There is something so pure about untouched pieces of nature today. I highly recommend leaving behind the fast paced world and slowly working your way through the Bahamas. There’s something soothing about experiencing natural beauty like in the Bahamas.

Outdoors-lovers will have an amazing time discovering the Bahamas’ wildlife. After a brief flight from the states and a stop at one of the Bahamas’ delicious restaurants like Greycliff, you will find yourself full of awe at the coral reefs, sub-tropical forests and hidden coves. You will be delighted to see how natural ecosystems grow and work together to sustain themselves without human intervention.

If you dream of spending your holidays exploring natural sites in the Bahamas like me, I’m sharing some of the best spots in the Bahamas.

Take Pictures at the Pink Sand Beach

It sounded unreal to me too, when I first heard of the Pink Sand beach. Nature does things well, but pink, really? The sand does have a pale pink color and we can thank foraminiferas (a single-celled planktonic animal with a perforated chalky shell) for this Instagram picture-perfect sight. They are microscopic coral insects with a red and pink shell and live in the reef. What gives the pink color to the sand is their remains, brought by the waves on to the beach.

You will not be able to stop smiling when your first discover the beach. The pink color becomes brighter as you walked towards the ocean, probably because the sand was wet. For an explosion of pink, I would recommend staying there until sunset, as the sky turns into shades of pink, red and purple. It’s one of the most memorable moments of our trip.

Swim in the Reef off Andros Island

Andros Island

If you love scuba diving, the Andros coral reef needs to be on your itinerary. It’s a beautiful area with a rich marine life. The clear water gave me the chance to swim and discover so many beautiful fishes, corals, and algae. I felt (almost) ashamed of my lack of knowledge of this marine life.

It was one of my favorite days of the entire holiday and I hope to go back and swim in Andros coral reef one day. I had an interesting conversation on the beach with locals about marine life, human and climate impacts on the reef and why it’s important to swim around the corals without touching them. Andros coral reef is one of the best-preserved reefs in the Bahamas. Unfortunately, the warming of the ocean has severely damaged this ecosystem; corals are really sensitive to temperature change and can only stand moderate temperature-water. I hear a lot about the impact of climate change, but experiencing it first-hand was very impactful.

Bird Watch at Abaco Islands

Abaco Islands

This is a great activity for animal-lovers. They always love discovering new things and are naturally attracted to animals. Although you can watch birds all over Abaco Islands, Abaco National Park is the place where you can observe a wider variety of indigenous species. The park is a nesting place for 1000 Bahama Parrots, local endangered birds. Bahama Parrots are colorful birds, with a green body, a white head and a red chest. Vulnerable to wild predators and bird trafficking, the government created this park to protect the species.

The park is about 20,500 acres so prepare to spend at least a day here. It felt so relaxing to spend time surrounded by giant pine trees. I played hide and seek with Bahama Parrots, had lunch with other tourists and took loads of pictures in the patches of green.

Green Turtle Cay

As the name mentions, this island is home to green turtles and is only accessible by boat. There are plenty of tours organized to take you to the area where they are. It was amazing to see them in their natural habitats. They swim elegantly, like a piece of emerald floating in the lagoon. The tour guide explained to us that green turtles are also an endangered species

Staniel Cay
Staniel Cay

On our way back, we also found pigs swimming in the ocean. It took me a few minutes to adjust; since when do pigs swim in a lagoon? The story says that they arrived in the Bahamas from Florida and populated this island. We later discovered that one part of the island was named “Piggyville”, where you can find pigs of all sizes running around the beach. It was mind-boggling!

Leaon Levy Plant Native Reserve

This is a great place to discover the indigenous plant species of the Bahamas! I am a plant-lover and always enjoy learning about them. The reserve is converted into a great hiking trail that takes you to freshwater wetlands, a weather station, and a diversity of plants from poisonous to medicinal species. So watch out!

This site was the “least natural” visit I did. After swimming with turtles and looking for birds, having paths available to me was a bit less exciting. One of the consequences of going to a man-made natural site… But I did learn a lot about plant medicine and the healing power of nature.

Glass Window Bridge

Glass Window Bridge

This was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. The glass window bridge sits on top of a thin stone layer that connects two narrow strips of Eleuthera Island. When you stand on it, you have the dark blue waves of the Atlantic ocean crashing on your right. On your left, you see the quiet blue-green water of the Bight of Eleuthera. I still can’t believe that two different waters have been separated by a thin bridge of stone for thousands of years.

I didn’t stay long because of the strong waves from the Atlantic. I was wet very quickly and I was advised to be careful with the heavy swell. Make sure you check the weather before you go, but do include a visit to the glass window bridge in your itinerary.

The Bahamas was a fantastic gateway in nature. From bird-watching to scuba diving with green turtles, reefs, walking in a mangrove forest and even swimming with pigs, I had such a blast! Although the Bahamas are known for great resorts and a relaxed gateway, I think that the island is so vibrant it would be a shame not to see the remote corners of the archipelagos.

The crystal clear turquoise waters, old-world colonial charm and bustling towns mean that the Bahamas are perfectly equipped to provide unforgettable holiday memories. From mysterious underwater wrecks to stunning national parks, there is something for everyone on these beautiful islands.

beach landscape nature 40976

If it’s peace and quiet you’re after, then the beautiful Pink Sand Beach on the east coast of Harbour Island offers the quintessential Caribbean experience with none of the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns. Considered one of the best beaches in the Bahamas, the pale pink sand stretches for more than three miles and is home to microscopic pink and red coral insects known as Foraminifera, which gives the beach its famous hue. Spend your afternoons sipping fresh juice under the shade of palm umbrellas while the sea gently laps the shore or head out for a horseback ride as the sun sets to get the best view of the famous pink sands.

With the long winter months coming to an end (and what a long winter it was!), now is a good time to start thinking about the warm reprieve of lazy summer holidays spent basking in the sunshine. While many people might be lucky enough to expect gorgeous weather in their hometowns, others might need to look further afield to get that their fix of vitamin D. And where could be better than soaking up the warm sunshine on the aptly named Paradise Island? With plenty of exciting activities for the whole family as well as increasingly low airfare to the Bahamas, it’s easy to see why this is one of the most coveted holiday destinations on Earth.lrg dsc01573

For wildlife seekers, the national parks of the Bahamas have it all. From wild mangrove swamps and stunning beaches to lush pine forests and underground cave systems, it is no wonder why the parks are protected. One of the most famous is Lucayan National Park, located between Freeport and Freetown at Gold Rock Creek on Grand Bahama. Consisting of 40 acres of land, the park is home to all six of the Bahamas’ vegetation zones, giving it a rich diversity of flora and fauna as well as the tallest sand dunes on the island.

With water temperatures of 27°C (80°F) year-round, the Bahamas also offer a wide selection of water sports. Grab your swimsuit and go snorkeling near one of the many underwater wrecks off the islands or fulfill one of your wildest dreams by swimming with one of the pods of dolphins in the area. Fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, and freediving are all widely available, but if you fancy something a little more relaxed, why not take a cruise around the islands as you sunbathe under the sails. Bliss!

img 7692Of course, no trip to the Bahamas would be complete without checking out the first-class casinos on the islands, especially the world-famous Atlantis Resort on the northern fringes of Nassau, which provided some of the backdrops for the James Bond film Casino Royale. After a few spins on the roulette wheel, head to the resort’s Paradise Island Water Park to wind your way down the miles of water slides, lazy rivers, and splash pools.

If you’re traveling with fussy eaters, it is worth knowing that the cuisine in the Bahamas is mostly centered on the delicious fresh seafood, which is so abundant on the islands. Conch is a staple of the Bahamian diet, which means it is widely available almost everywhere you turn! Try cracked conch, conch salad, or conch burgers from one of the many markets stalls or satisfy pickier palates with fresh BBQ food from the amazing restaurants with sea views.

If that isn’t enough to convince you, I don’t know what is!

Sun, sand and good food are the terms that come to mind when we think of the Caribbean.  Whether you’re into mindless relaxation at an all-inclusive resort or are seeking a zip-line adrenaline rush through rain forest, the options are endless in this part of the world.

Although pristine beaches and shady palm trees are typical of the island nations, each country has its own unique offerings.  No two Caribbean islands are ever the same.  And there’s a reason why many tourists end up visiting the same countries over and over again!

Dominican RepublicDreams Palm Beach Punta Cana

According to data from the Caribbean Tourism Association, the Dominican Republic was top destination of choice in 2013. And we can certainly see why. This country is all about the “melting pot” — with a mix of cultures existing harmoniously throughout the land. European, African and Native American vibes hang effortlessly — creating a very welcoming atmosphere for tourists. The beaches are heavenly, the cuisine is rich, and yet the prices are super cheap!  What more could you want out of a vacation? Although the Dominican Republic saw more than 3 million tourists in 2013 alone, there are several other Caribbean countries that are worth a visit too!

Our favorite place to stay in the Dominican Republic is Margaritaville Cap Cana Island Reserve.

 CubaHavana Cuba

One of the Caribbean’s largest islands, Cuba is a hit with travelers.  Here you can find luxury for rock-bottom rates at dozens of popular resorts.  Don’t want to be part of the crowd?  No problem.  You can find private vacation rental condos and villas all along the coast, allowing you to experience everything Cuba has to offer on your own terms.  Meanwhile, the city of Havana is consistently rated as one of the Caribbean’s top destinations.  Stroll through the colonial streets as you take in the architecture of an era gone by.  Experience the colourful glamour Havana once felt, while respecting the careful reconstruction that’s happening all around you.  If you’re into good food, salsa music and a welcoming vibe — then Cuba was made for you!

Cayman IslandsCayman Islands

Located in the western Caribbean Sea, the Cayman Islands is made up of three islands:  Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.  The Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman’s west shore is one of the most popular, luring tourists from around the globe.  Snorkel and swim with friendly sea creatures, and then come out of the water to enjoy luscious drinks at one of the coastal bars.  At night, tourists love heading out to the capital city of George Town for an evening of shopping and fine dining!

BahamasNassua, Bahamas

Technically, the Bahamas is not located in the Caribbean’s geographical area.  However, it is considered a part of the Caribbean community.  Although there are deals to be had on this island, the Bahamas has been popular with travellers who crave luxury.  The popular Atlantis resort is not all-inclusive, so be prepared to pay a little extra. But service in the Bahamas cannot be beaten. We stayed at The Cove tower and it was lovely.

The capital city of Nassau has some of the region’s best restaurants and boasts some of the area’s most spectacular beaches.  Take a walk along the shores and watch the yachts roll in.  The Bahamas has long been known as a billionaire’s paradise because of its close proximity to the United States.  Meanwhile, snorkelling amongst the colourful coral reefs is a favourite pastime for tourists.  Enjoy some conch at the local fish fry, and then head over to some of the best shopping this community has to offer.
