Do you want to plan a trip that the whole family will enjoy, even the teenagers? Let’s face it, the easiest way to make any family vacation successful is to keep the kids happy! To get an idea of what kind of vacation a kid would most enjoy I ask a group of experts aka my kids.

Noah, Eden, and Jonah have been traveling with me their entire lives. So far the three of them have been to at least 22 countries, 4 continents, and almost every state in the United States. Needless to say, when I ask them what the best family vacations were, they had more than a few opinions!

They quickly fired off an assortment of places we have been. It was interesting to hear what they picked, some of them I knew, but other ones were a complete surprise. After some serious conversation with them, we’ve narrowed it down to 17!

Top 17 Family Vacations You will Never Forget!

1. Singapore

Singapore is in all of our top ten picks. My oldest, Noah considers Singapore to be a utopia because of its cleanliness and orderliness. Oddly enough, we were only in Singapore for two days, making it one of the shortest stays we have done anywhere. It only took one day for us to fall in love with this city. We recommend walking around Marina Bay where the architecture is insane and definitely visit some parts of the Marina Bay Gardens. I can assure you that your kids have never seen anything else like this! The kid’s favorite hotel here is the Fairmont Singapore. 2. Cancun

Cancun has so much going on, and don’t worry, it’s safe. We spent a week there and basically had a non-stop adventure! The entire area is set up well to accommodate any kind of family and literally any type of budget. Families will appreciate luxurious, all-inclusive resorts with kid’s clubs and teen clubs. While the kids are off doing their own thing parents can head to a spa or the bar. There isn’t a bad beach anywhere in the area, so plan to spend at least two full days beach bumming. While you are there, be sure to see Mayan Ruins, swim in a cenote, eat lots of Mexican food, and go ATVing.

3. Thailand

Thailand is absolutely incredible and I wasn’t surprised it landed in my kids top three places. You can basically go anywhere in Thailand and have an interesting experience. I recommend visiting at least these three places when you go: Phuket, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai. Although they each have some similarities they are completely different experiences.

Phuket

Phuket is one of Thailand’s islands and it’s extremely kid friendly. My kids thought taking a Thai cooking class was cool and they loved going to the beaches and interacting with elephants and tigers. Bangkok

Bangkok is massive so there are loads and activities. The kids loved biking through the city despite the heavy traffic and they were thrilled when we stumbled across monstrous milkshakes. To read more about taking Bangkok to kids, check out my article: Two Days in Bangkok with Kids.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is an easy city to get around and it has tons to see and do. The city has an incredible night market where you and your kids could shop for hours. Here you will find interesting things to purchase like leather journals, bracelets, and tuk-tuks made out of soda cans. There is an elephant sanctuary where families can care for elephants and of course the food is outstanding! I recommend staying at the Shangri-la and taking a food and city tour by bike. 4. New York City

New York City is currently Noah’s #1 and in Eden’s top 3 and in my top 15. The kids love the many dessert experiences here like Serendipity and Black Tap. Both places have outrageous over-the-top desserts. They all enjoy hanging out in Central Park and Bryant Park, both parks have lots of free activities. At Bryant Park, kids can play kubb, while parents grab a drink at the little outdoor bar there. In Central Park, there are multiple playgrounds.

Visiting the 9/11 memorial is a must and if the kids are 10 or older tour the museum. Kids enjoy touring the Statue of Liberty, but not necessarily Ellis Island. If you do, go to Ellis Island to look for your family’s name on the wall. If you want to do a bus tour I recommend The Ride, especially if your kids are teens or tweens. I think going to a Broadway show is a must, but this is expensive and not worth it if your kids hate musicals or might possibly sleep through it. Good plays for kids are Wicked, Lion King, and Phantom of the Opera.

5. Oahu, Hawaii

Hawaii is another place that all three kids agree on and Oahu is their top island followed by Kauai. On Oahu, their favorite thing to do is sit at the pool or sit on the beach.

The kids recommend hanging out at the beach on North Shore to check out the waves and do some shopping. While you are up there have shrimp from Giovani’s Shrimp truck and get shaved ice at Matsumoto Shave Ice. If you feel like getting active rent a paddleboard at Sea N Surf and paddle up the Anahulu River and look for sea turtles. The last time we went we saw five huge sea turtles.

Also, fun in Oahu is parasailing in Waikiki and hiking to the top of Diamond Head. When you get done hiking Diamond Head, stop by Shimazu Shave Ice for massive shaved ice.

6. Orlando

Orlando would probably make any kid’s list. With it being home to Disney World, Sea World, Discovery Cove, and Universal Studios a family could spend a month and do something different every single day. Universal Orlando is a must once each kid is tall enough to ride all the roller coasters and the new water park, Volcano Bay is fantastic. Besides the theme parks, there are all sorts of other fun things to do like swamp tours through alligator-infested waters, knight tournaments at Medieval Times, and within a short drive lots of beaches.

7. London

London also made it high on the list of the kid’s favorite places. We visited during Thanksgiving a few years ago and everything we did was awesome. There is so much to see and do that you can easily spend a week or two here and never run out of activities. Some of their favorite things were seeing the play Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, eating at Borough Market, and doing the Tower of London tour. Both boy’s least favorite thing to do is the bus tours. I personally appreciated how many free things there were to do in London. For more London ideas and tips, see my article: London with Kids.

8. Negril, Jamaica

Negril, Jamaica is Jonah’s #1 pick, and if I was his age, I think this would possibly be my #1 too. We recommend staying at Beaches Negril. This is an all-inclusive resort geared specifically for families. Highlights of staying here include:

Sesame Street parade and BBQ party where families can dance with the characters, DJs lead dances, flame throwers perform, and more.
Ice Cream Machine – The kids loved the ice cream machine which they visited a minimum of three times a day. (Don’t judge me, it’s vacation!)
Snuba – Even kids can snuba at Beaches Negril and they do not have to have any experience to do this. The instructors are fabulous and it’s an activity the kids will never forget.
Multiple pools, a lazy river, a water playground, and hot tubs.

9. Vail, Colorado

Vail, Colorado is another destination that is enjoyable year-round. During the summer the kids enjoy biking around town, riding horses around the mountain, and visiting the Epic Discovery adventure park set up on the mountain. In the winter the skiing is excellent. My kids have skied since they were little and appreciate the extensive skiing found in Vail. If you do not ski, this is a great place to learn. For more info, check out our Vail Travel Guide.

10. Silvies Valley Ranch

Visiting a dude ranch is a completely unique vacation. You can have an experience as a family that just can’t be had unless you are on a working ranch. Here you can shoot guns, interact with baby goats, hit the spa, experience gourmet dining, participate in a cattle round-up, and much more. They even have four golf courses on the ranch. Golf lovers will flip out over the reversible golf course that’s right I said reversible! With a little bit of everything, your family is sure to have an incredible time. 11. Greece

Greece is an epic experience because let’s face it, there’s no other place on earth like it. It basically doesn’t matter what part of the country you visit, you will never have a bad meal, you will experience history and culture like never before. I can state this as a fact because we’ve traveled all over Greece and it’s all been wonderful.

Athens

Chances are high that one way or another a Greek vacation is going to take you through Athens at some point. Plan to spend at least a day here so you can visit the Acropolis before heading out to the islands. At night during the sunset dine at Savvas, their rooftop overlooks the Acropolis. Hotels can be difficult to get for a family, you may want to stay in an Airbnb.

Mykonos

A one of a kind city and gorgeous beaches await you in Mykonos. Teens and parents alike will love Mykonos City full of white-washed buildings. Also, if you can get a sitter or if your kids are old enough to stay at the hotel alone plan to go out. Mykonos has one of the best nightlife experiences in the world.

Santorini

Here you will have the opportunity to see things you’ve never see before like Red Beach. Perissa, the black beach is also worth visiting if you’ve never seen one before. There are two towns built into the sides of the island, both of which are worth spending time in, Fira and Oia. In Oia, you will see one of the greatest sunsets in the world.

Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is from biblical times and many of their historical sights have withstood the test of time. (Okay, I know what you are thinking. Yes, all of Greece is from biblical times.) They basically have ruins or a gorgeous church around every corner. The food scene is excellent here. For a list of things to see and do check out my post: Thessaloniki on a Budget.

Kassandra

Can’t afford to splurge on the islands? Head here instead. Here you will be greeted with that famous aqua water and glorious beaches. Go shopping in Pefkochori and grab lunch at Agora Beach Bar. I highly recommend staying at Alexander the Great Beach Resort in this area.

12. Australia

If you can get yourself to Australia, do it! Australia is just as fabulous as everyone says it is. There are so many varied experiences to be had throughout the country. Try to plan a minimum of 9 days in the country. More than two weeks would be better.

Whitsunday Islands

If swimming the Great Barrier Reef is on your bucket list, then this should be your first stop. Whitehaven Beach should also be on your bucket list. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Melbourne

If you’ve got a family of foodies, Melbourne is sure to delight. They have the most over-the-top, whimsical food creations you’ve likely ever seen. In between beautiful meals stop by the Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes and the graffiti alleys. The alleys in Melbourne are really cool.

Great Ocean Road

One of the top road trips in the world is driving the Great Ocean Road. Along the way, you can stop at dozens of scenic overlooks and take in the magnificent rock formations like Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles. You can enjoy one of the many nice beaches where kids can swim and play in the sand. Plus, there are animal encounters. Pull over to look for koalas in the trees and feed the birds at Kafe Koala. Be sure to stop at the Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park, where you can hand-feed kangaroos.

13. Texas

We are originally from Texas so it was no surprise that Texas made the list. The kids have been all over Texas and they recommend eating lots of Tex-Mex food and visiting the following cities: Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi.

San Antonio

San Antonio has a ton of stuff for families to do. Here you will find a massive zoo, Fiesta Texas theme park, the famous San Antonio River Walk, and just outside of town is Schlitterbahn the #1 water park in the world. When visiting plan at least one full day at Schlitterbahn, half a day at the river walk, and float the Comal river. Our favorite restaurants in San Antonio currently are Ocho, Toro Kitchen + Bar, and Rita’s on the River.

Dallas/Fort Worth

The Dallas, Fort Worth area is packed with stuff to do for families. Over in Fort Worth will love the rodeo at the stockyards. Be sure to go when they have bull riding. Also found in the stockyards is a fun maze and Texas-themed shopping. Plus, they do a daily cattle drive. Our favorite restaurants in Dallas include Meso Maya for dinner and El Jordan Cafe for breakfast. Just north of Dallas is Addison, TX which is jammed packed with great restaurants.

14. Honduras

Honduras is easily one of our top vacations, according to me. Unfortunately, the kids remember very little of the trip. I recommend going to Roatan and Copan. These two places are no where near each other and two extremely different experiences. What they do have in common is affordability!

Roatan

Roatan is one of the Bay Islands and along the 2^nd best barrier reef in the world. The reef is near the shoreline making it extremely easy for kids to snorkel. Jonah was 4 when we visited and he was able to snorkel. Also fun here is zip lining and paddleboarding.

Copan

Copan is a Honduran city that borders Guatemala. Here you can go horseback riding up a mountain, go zip lining on one of the longest zip lines in the world, and visit an incredible hot spring.

15. Panama City Beach

Another family favorite in Florida is Panama City Beach. The beach has soft, powdery, white sand. It isn’t as big as many of the beach towns, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot to do. Go mini-golfing and go-carting, spend the day at the beach, or shop around at Pier Park. Spend one day bopping around Scenic 30A, where you will find tiny beach towns like Seaside or Rosemary. Renting some bicycles is a perfect way to explore this area. Another interesting spot worth venturing out to is Sandestin’s Baytowne Wharf. Here, families can indulge in boutique shopping, zip-lining, ropes courses, an arcade, and unique eateries.

16. Costa Rica

Costa Rica is super cool country with a wide variety of things to do. The food was consistently good, the activities were exciting and the people were so nice. Whether rafting down a volcano’s raging rivers in a tube near La Fortuna to chilling at a beautiful beach on the Pacific or the Atlantic everyone is going to enjoy the country. 17. La Paz

La Paz features miles of white sand beaches and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure including paddle boarding, kite surfing, kayaking, SCUBA diving, whale watching, swimming with whale sharks, sportfishing, hiking, mountain biking, and much more. If you want your kids off their devices and outside doing stuff you will love it here. Plus, the food is unbelievably good.

So, there you have it, the best of the best family travel locations. There are hundreds of other places that could have made the list but didn’t. These were ones that just barely missed making our list: Las Vegas, Bavarian Alps in Germany, Paris, and house boating on Lake Shuswap in British Columbia. Like Honduras, my kids do not even remember house boating up in Canada, but if they did (well not Jonah, he had yet to be born), I am sure it would have made it onto the list.

I think you should take as many as possible, big trips, weekend getaways, family reunions, you name it. 6. Hotel De Glace

Located just outside of Quebec City, Quebec is one of the coolest kid hotel rooms available according to my friend Sarah. As long as you are okay with sleeping in a -3 to -5 degree room. In past years, the Hotel De Glace won the hearts of little kids across the world with their Frozen suite. The animators of the film actually stayed at the hotel when drawing up plans for Elsa’s ice castle.

Other incredible themed suites have included The Great Gatsby and the iconic Canadian Hockey Suite. The hotel melts away each year and so with each Winter comes a brand new selection of suites. Check current rates on Expedia.

7. Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando has Despicable Me suites. We stayed at a Universal hotel for the first time, but we stayed over at Cabana Bay where the rooms were 1950’s throwback rooms. 8. The Palms Pink Suite

Hot Pink Suite at The Palms in Las Vegas. I love Vegas and I take my kids there fairly often. One of these days we are going to stay in this hot pink suite! Granted, I typically would not recommend staying here with the kids. The Palms would be better for a girl’s trip. Designed by the famous “Happy Chic” designer Jonathan Adler, this 2,350-square-foot suite is the ultimate bachelorette party pad. The suite’s dreamy décor features corseted, lace-up chairs, custom art, and terrazzo bubble floors.

9. Fantasyland Hotel

Space-themed rooms in Edmonton, Canada. One of my friends stayed here a while back and it looked awesome! The room has one queen bed and capsule bunk beds for the kids. Plus, there is a two-person Jacuzzi. They have an assortment of other themed rooms including a Hollywood theme and Arabian themed.

10. The Shire of Montana

This is a Hobbit-themed house. This Hobbit House offers visitors an interesting underground lodging experience full of imagination. Inside the house isn’t really that cool, but the outside is neat. It is small, so it can only accommodate 3 people. Kids must be 12 years old or older to stay here. Check current rates on VRBO.

11. Grand Mirage Resort

The Grand Mirage Resort in Bali has some interesting rooms that kids will like, including rooms with bunk beds and themed rooms like this girl’s room. For the kids, Grand Mirage Bali Resort features kid’s mini water park, pool slides, an indoor playground, a kid’s club, kids e-lounge, a foam party, and many more. Check current rates on Hotels.com.

12. Blue Hills Ranch

Just 15 minutes outside of Waco, TX you will find a Blue Hills Ranch, a 150-acre resort with green rolling hills, lakes, giraffes, zebras, otters, kangaroos, and more. Here you can rent one of their themed cabins, like the Hook cabin or the Kraken cabin pictured here. Both the animal encounters and the cabins have to be booked well in advance.

13. Iniala Beach House

Iniala Beach House in Takua Thung, Thailand has some seriously cool rooms for those traveling with kids. You cannot book the room shown, but your kids can stay in it. It’s the kid’s club which is a kid’s hotel and should they want to they can stay the night.

14. Graduate New York “Big” Suite

Located on the sixth floor of Graduate New York, the Loft Suite has been fully transformed into a toy-filled suite just as Tom Hanks’ character, Josh Baskin does to his NYC apartment in the film. Sleeping up to six guests, making for the perfect family getaway, The Loft Suite provides iconic childhood toys and games complete with a real Zoltar machine and themed bunk beds. A life-sized floor piano and mini trampoline are also included, and the most nostalgic part? Guests can watch Big on an old TV via VHS.

15. The Curtis Hotel

The Curtis Hotel in Denver has a bunch of themed rooms but I think their video game-themed room is by far the best one. It even has an old-school Donkey Kong game in the room! In the lobby, they have board games you can play as well. Check current rates!

This list could keep going. We’ve stayed at Aulani in Oahu and we all love it. The rooms were not themed out, but they were nice and we enjoyed it. Same for a hotel in Portland, Riverplace. It was not themed but is one of our favorite places I’ve ever stayed in.

Choose Activities and Tours

To find great activities in any area I use Viator. If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass, PogoPass, and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available. Groupon also tends to have a lot of local travel deals.

When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar. They’ve got fantastic weekly deals. If going somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean, I use Apple Vacations.

Rent a Car or Get a Lyft

More often than not, Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Use my Lyft link for an $18 credit! For a car rental in any country, I recommend Hertz or Discover Cars.

6 Days in Orlando with Grandparents

If you are looking to take a multi-generational family vacation, Orlando is a pretty great location. I know what your thinking – It’s for kids. But that’s not really the case. Orlando is home to some of the greatest theme parks in the world: Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, etc. Not to mention the hundreds of other attractions found here. This is no exaggeration, there are literally hundreds of things to do in Orlando. With so many activities available it’s easy to find something everyone wants to do. Grandparents, parents, and kids will appreciate the diversity of shows and kid-friendly restaurant selections including fine dining, themed dining, and dinner shows found in Orlando.

Families will enjoy staying at Saratoga Springs Resort a kid-friendly hotel while in Orlando. This is where we stayed when we vacationed in Orlando with my parents and it so far has been our favorite out of all the places we’ve stayed. (Summer Bay is our 2nd favorite and it would also be an excellent place for families to stay.

Saratoga Springs features one and two-bedroom condos with full kitchens and living rooms. Plan to stock your room with food for breakfast each morning that way you can get your children fed quick and be off to the theme parks.

6 Day Orlando Itinerary with Grandparents

Here is a day-by-day Orlando itinerary with lots of suggestions. I’ve thrown in suggested activities and restaurants. Take it and turn it into the ideal vacation for your own family. If you are on a budget be sure to read our post 22 Ways to Save Money on an Orlando Vacation.

Day 1: Discovery Cove & Tex-Mex

Kick-off your Orlando vacation by spending your day at one of the neatest theme parks you will ever visit, Discovery Cove. Today you will eat breakfast and lunch buffet at Discovery Cove because it is an all-inclusive experience. They even offer all-you-can-eat snacks and drinks. With multiple snack stations spread out throughout the park, no one in your family will ever have to go hungry. Discovery Cove also provides animal-safe sunscreen as well as life jackets, snorkel sets, and wet suits.

Get to Discovery Cove before they open. The earlier you get in the line, the earlier you get into the park. (I’m serious about this. The line is ridiculous and moves slow.)

During the day Discovery Cove offers kid-friendly animal encounters like petting a sloth and meeting a marmoset. Not only is it educational, but your kids will remember it forever. My kids loved getting to pet a sloth!

For an extra fee, you can swim with two of the dolphins that live here. If the whole family is participating in the dolphin swim, consider splitting into two different time slots so you can take pictures of each other. They will take pictures for you, but it will cost you! Also, make sure that your dolphin swim doesn’t interfere with any of the other animal encounters.

Grandparents and kids alike will love floating along the lazy river. Halfway around the river, there are spots to get out of the river and enter the bird sanctuary. Here you will have up-close interaction with all kinds of birds as you hand-feed them.

The lazy river is deep. Put your kids in a life jacket if they are not a strong swimmer.

Discovery Cove closes early each day typically around 5:30. This leaves your family plenty of time to do something else during the evening. Purchase Discovery Cove tickets in advance.

Tonight, enjoy excellent Tex-Mex in Orlando at Chuy’s. Indulge in a plate of enchiladas and a large specialty margarita. Chuy’s can be a rather loud restaurant. If someone is hard of hearing (like grandpa), be sure to ask for a quieter part to be seated in or maybe pick a different restaurant. Day 2: Sea World & Tapas

Today you will be spending most of your day at Sea World. Your admission to SeaWorld is free because it was included in the admission to Discovery Cove. SeaWorld is a great place for multi-generational families to visit because there is a little bit of everything. For younger family members there are huge roller coasters. For older family members there are lots of animal shows to enjoy. Of course, kids will love both of those but there is also a special area just for them at Sea World with small rides, a splash pad, and a massive climbing structure.

SeaWorld has a rider switch program for families that have children too short to ride a roller coaster.
SeaWorld offers free admission to military members and their families.

Evening: Sea World closes around 7 PM most days, so hold off eating dinner until you leave the park. Sea World is close to International Drive where you will find lots of great kid-friendly restaurants. Cafe Tu Tu Tango is the perfect place for a large family to dine. The menu is all appetizers, so families can order a little bit of everything and share. Plus, depending on which night you visit there will be palm readers and belly dancers.

Day 3: Sun, Swimming, & City Walk

Today is a down day because although the kids can go and go, parents and grandparents need a day of rest! Saratoga Springs has multiple pools and hot tubs as well as several poolside bars and cafes. Enjoy the day by a pool or two, play table tennis, or basketball, hit the arcade, or take the kids to the playground. You will find all of these activities on-site.

For dinner drive over to City Walk and eat at Cowfish a Burger and Sushi Bar, one of City Walk’s newest restaurants. If possible, make a reservation in advance or at least earlier in the day for 6:00 PM. Here you will enjoy incredible sushi combinations like Dion’s OMG? Roll made with tempura coconut shrimp, kani, English cucumber, coated in tempura flakes. Topped with fresh mango, avocado, spicy honey marmalade, and coconut flakes as well as original burgers like a Black Truffle cheeseburger made with beef, black truffle cheese, roasted shallots, sautéed mushrooms, roasted garlic aioli, and lettuce on a brioche bun.

After dinner walk around the lake to the Blue Man Theatre. Blue Man Group performs at 8:00 each night and this kid-friendly show is one that grandparents will love too.

Day 4: Epcot

Today you will be spending a full day at Epcot. After breakfast, head to the park. In front of the park, you will find some excellent ride experiences like Test Track and Soarin that the whole family will enjoy.

Consider eating lunch and dinner at Epcot since there are many desirable restaurants here. Be sure to plan ahead of time where you want to eat. No matter how busy the park is you can always get into Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie a cafeteria-style restaurant with amazing French baked goods that also happens to be one of the cheapest places to eat inside Epcot. Here each person in your family can pick out what they want like a ham and cheese croissant and an exquisite dessert.

Epcot Tips

Tip 1: Wear good shoes and if you need to rent a wheelchair because Epcot is non stop walking.

Tip 2: Make your dinner reservations at Epcot in advance.

Tip 3: Find a spot in France or Morocco for the best views of the nighttime fireworks show.

Day 5: Water park & Fancy Dinner

Today hit a water park. Orlando has many incredible water parks, including Aquatica Waterpark, which happens to be included in your admission to Discovery Cove just like a visit to SeaWorld was. Aquatica Orlando is an incredible kid-friendly water park with all kinds of water slides, a wave pool, two types of lazy rivers, and an extremely cool kids’ area. Kids can run and play all through the kid’s area while parents and grandparents relax and soak in the sun. Purchase Aquatica tickets in advance.

As far as lunch and snacks pre-purchase the Banana Beach Buffet online and eat whenever you like all day long. The buffet has choices like pulled pork, baked chicken, hot dogs, pizza, assorted salads and sides, and dessert and sodas. One price allows you to eat here all day.

Another fantastic Orlando water park is Volcano Bay.

Evening: Aquatic closes fairly early so you will have plenty of time for a meal the whole family will enjoy. Since this is your last night in Orlando dress up and make it a special night by having a meal at the Flying Fish Cafe where you can dine on steaks and fish.

To get here park at the Boardwalk Resort, at the gate let them know where you are dining and you will be let in and can park for free. Walkthrough the resort to the back where the property opens up to the Coney Island-style boardwalk, the restaurant will be to the right as you walk towards the lake.

You are allowed to split entrees at Flying Fish Cafe as long as you are not on the Disney Dining Plan.

You will definitely want to save room for dessert here. Flying Fish has one of the best desserts at Disney World for kids, a white chocolate Mickey Mouse puzzle kids put together and paint with sugar paints.

After dinner, go back out to the boardwalk and watch the fireworks. You will be able to see some of the fireworks from Epcot and Disney Studios. Hopefully, there will also be boardwalk entertainers out like the jugglers and magicians.

Day 6: Magic Kingdom

Today you are going to spend all day at the Magic Kingdom. If you like the Disney bus that will take you to the park. That’s one of the perks of staying at Saratoga Springs it’s a Disney resort so you have Disney transportation available to you. You can also drive yourself over if you like and park for free with your hotel parking pass.

There is so much to do inside the Magic Kingdom that you probably won’t be able to do it all. Attractions here include the popular Tron, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean rides.

If your child wants to get their face painted, the best face painting in the park can be found by the bathrooms near Space Mountain. The cost is around $15 and it doesn’t take long.

Sleepy Hollow waffle sandwiches

For lunch, dine at Sleepy Hollow or Be My Guest. Sleepy Hollow only has outdoor seating, but their waffle sandwiches are awesome and they have a great view of the afternoon parade. Be My Guest is inside Beast’s Castle from Beauty and the Beast. Here, you dine on whatever they are offering, most likely sandwiches, and sit in one of three rooms in the castle. Sit in the darkroom with the magic rose and keep an eye on the Beast’s portrait.

Stay in the park for a late dinner. If you want to have dinner at Be Our Guest you need to make reservations months in advance. If you want something cheaper like hamburgers, go to Cosmic Rays. After dinner, keep riding rides until it’s time for the night-time parade. Find a spot for the parade that is also a good viewing spot of the fireworks. Anything too close to the castle is not the best. You do not want to have to look straight up into the air.

The nighttime parade and afternoon parade are completely different.

Chuy’s is a Mexican food restaurant chain but it’s so good it deserves to be on this list. It’s always loud in there so even if your kid has a melt down you will blend right in.

9. Hash House a Go Go

Hash House a Go Go has massive portions that kids will get a massive kick out of like a pancake twice the size of their head and their amazing milkshakes. They describe themselves as twisted farm food and they are.

The bread service alone is worth dining here for. Not to mention all of the animals walking around the property since it’s located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You will see zebras, giraffes, and more. Last but not least have the neatest dessert for kids here. It’s a sugar cookie the decorate with sugar paints.

As someone who has lived in Central Florida for most of my life – I’m not a native, but then who is? – I feel I’ve got a decent handle on at least some of the fun things to do in Orlando! Orlando is a huge city! And for me, it’s kinda divided up into Disney (which in my mind includes all the theme parks), I-Drive (touristy area) and Downtown (local-ish fun). There are a few outlier areas to mention, but we’ll get to that.

6-Day Orlando Itinerary

Amusement parks in Orlando

Orlando is known for its theme parks, so I may as well start here. If you’re looking for fun things to do in Orlando, these will definitely fit the bill. But, be warned, theme parks are pretty expensive! Sometimes you can find cheaper tickets on Undercover Tourist.

Disney and Universal are, of course, the best-known amusement parks in Orlando, but there are a few more you might be interested in also.

Walt Disney World

The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom is the icon of the Disney parks, and probably the best-known of the fun things to do in Orlando. Cinderella’s Castle has filled many young kids’ dreams for years! This park open right before we moved to Florida, so we were able to see it at the beginning. And wow, has it grown over the years! This park is perfect if you have kids. It’s a long hard day though, so plan your time accordingly.

TIP 1: Come early and leave in the middle of the day to get a rest time in if you have young kids.

TIP 2: If your kids are a little older, they would probably enjoy playing the interactive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. Stop by the Firehouse on Mainstreet USA and get your free beginner set of cards and instructions.

Epcot

Epcot (Disney’s Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) is a very different park from the Magic Kingdom. It is considered a more “adult” park though there are things for kids to do. Epcot also always has a special event going on. Two of the more popular are the Wine & Food Festival (held in the Fall) and the International Flower & Garden Festival (held in the Spring) are very popular and worth your time.

TIPS: As with the Magic Kingdom, Epcot has a game for kids to play to make the park more interactive. Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure will take your family all through the World Showcase looking for clues to stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s evil scheme.

Hollywood Studios

Star Wars is definitely the star of the show at Hollywood Studios! With their recently opened Galaxy’s Edge, you can walk through places from the movies. It’s gotten great reviews from Star Wars fans, so if you love Star Wars, you will definitely want to check it out! There are rides and shows and characters from Disney and Pixar’s different movies scattered throughout the park.

TIPS: Plan ahead of time where you want to spend your time and get there early. Hit the shows in the middle of the day when temperatures are on the rise!

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is like going to a really cool, amped-up zoo. There are some thrill rides here, but there are also rides that take you through the animal parks. You can make arrangements to have up-close experiences with animals. You usually have to sign up several months ahead of time, but you can have some really unique experiences. TIPS: Some of the rides will get you wet, so bring a poncho if it’s a nice day!

Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon is a fun water park with a tropical feel. There is a surf pool, water slides, a lazy river, and much more to do here.

Blizzard Beach

Disney has more than one water park. Blizzard Beach is another really well-done water park with a little bit of everything.

Disney Springs

Shopping, dining and entertainment! That’s what you’ll find at Disney Springs. With over 100 shops like the Lego store, 60 dining spots, and 21 different shows and events, you will surely find something to do here. Some of our favorites are the T-Rex Cafe and Splitsville.

Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Studios

The biggest draw at Universal is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This has continued to grow and improve over the years and has become a mecca for Harry Potter fans. Diagon Alley is located in Universal Studios. The best ride here is Escape from Gringotts. When you’ve finished your time at Universal Studios, hop on the Hogwarts Express and head over to Islands of Adventure!

TIPS: The line for Gringotts get long quickly, so head there first then do your walking around once that’s out of the way.

Islands of Adventure

Of all the fun things to do in Orlando, Islands of Adventure is probably my favorite. Along with the Wizarding World, you will also find Suess Landing – big fun for little kids, Marvel Super Hero Island – the Spiderman ride is awesome, Toon Lagoon – fun, but bring a poncho for the rides. You’ll find Hogsmeade in the Wizarding World on this side along with the Hogwarts Castle. The Three Broomsticks is a great place to eat, and try to catch some of the shows.

TIPS: Like with the Gringotts ride, the Hogwarts ride line gets really long really quickly. So, head there first if this is what you really want to do. You can also get a tour through the castle without going on the ride!

Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay is fun place to unwind and splash around after your hectic days at the parks. Relax on the beach or have fun on the rides. You can rent a cabana or just hang out on the shore.

Universal’s City Walk

Shopping, dining, and entertainment! You can eat at Jimmy Buffet’s restaurant, watch the Blue Man Group perform, or catch the latest movie. There’s also a Voodoo Donuts!

Seaworld Orlando

Seaworld is a marine zoological park. A marine rescue center and a theme park! There are a lot of really interesting animals to see, shows to watch, and you can have interactive experiences too! You can dine surrounded by whales or sharks! A very different experience from the other amusement parks in Orlando!

TIPS: If you want to have an interactive animal experience, you will need to make arrangements online prior to your visit. Also, Seaworld has been certified as an Autism Center.

Discovery Cove

Discovery Cove is a Day Resort. For your price of admission, you can stay all day and enjoy the amenities included with your resort stay. Included is all-day snacks and drinks (including alcohol), breakfast and lunch, feeding birds, swimming with fish. For an upgrade, you can have a dolphin experience unlike anything else! A truly unique experience!

Aquatica

Seaworld has it’s own waterpark in Orlando, Aquatica. It has an amazing play area for kids.

Gatorland

This 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve is a must-see! This privately owned park began over 70 years ago. Along with alligators, you will also see birds, snakes, turtles and wildcats. The shows are worth your time to see. Also, there are zip lines to try and night shows!

Holy Land Experience

The Holy Land Experience is a living, biblical museum and park that brings the world of the Bible to life! It combines the sights and sounds of the biblical world in a unique and interactive way, unlike any other location!

Things to do on International Drive

International Drive is a whole tourist destination outside the theme parks! There are so many fun things to do in Orlando, and I Drive has a lot of them! heck, you may not even need the theme parks, lol! But seriously, with its location right near everything you’ll want to do in Orlando, it’s a great place to spend the day.

ICON Orlando (formerly the Orlando Eye)

This is the tallest observation wheel on the East Coast. On a clear day, you can see the Kennedy Space Center and the Space Coast! This interactive ride is unique and will give you a wonderful view of Central Florida!

Madame Tussauds Orlando

The famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum where you can see your favorite people both current and historical in life-size wax replicas. From superheroes, to all the James Bonds, to Justin Beiber! You can see them all! Purchase tickets in advance.

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium

A fascinating aquarium right in the middle of everything. Make sure you go through the 360 Tunnel and be surrounded by fish, sharks, turtles and even eels. And check out the Jelly Fish wall! The colors will astound you! Get tickets in advance.

SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology

A museum of skeletons! Such a unique experience. Over 500 real skeletons in dioramas that will give you a whole new appreciation of the animal kingdom!

WonderWorks Orlando

WonderWorks has 100+ hands-on science exhibits plus laser tag, a ropes course & a 6D motion ride. Something for everyone, for sure!

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando

A museum of oddities! Filled with strange, unique and curious exhibits! Get your picture taken with the world’s tallest man. Check out a real shrunken head. Make your own wax hand.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition

This museum is dedicated to the Titanic. With artifacts and recreations of the ship and guided tours. Get tickets in advance.

Coco Key Hotel & Water Park

When you stay at the Coco Key Hotel, you will receive 4 free water park tickets daily during your stay. With 14 water slides, a huge arcade and a tiki bar, this is fun for the whole family!

Fun Spot America

This amusement park has so much to do! Bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl, a Ferris Wheel, an arcade, a midway and so much more!

Escape Rooms are a fun way to spend your time. Match your wits against 6 immersive adventures, and see if you can solve the mystery and escape. With difficulty levels range from 6/10 to 9/10, there is sure to be a game that challenges you! Book your escape room in advance.

Chocolate Museum & Cafe

Tour the museum and learn all about chocolate. Where it comes from and how it’s made. Check out the sculptures made from chocolate. Learn about wine parings. Then sit in the cafe and have some delicious bites!

Things to do in Downtown Orlando

Away from the touristy, theme park area south of here, downtown offers visitors a completely different take on entertainment! The fun things to do in downtown Orlando offer history, nature and the arts!

Dr. Phillips Center

A beautiful venue for concerts and shows. It’s worth checking online to see what’s going on at this venue if something worthwhile is going on while you’re here.

SAKS Comedy Club

A fantastic improv comedy club. A fun way to spend an evening – good, clean fun! My kids love going here, so it’s family-friendly too!

Grand Bohemian Hotel

A beautiful luxury hotel in the midst of downtown. Whether you stay there or not, their restaurant Boheme is wonderful and worth making a reservation for! If you happen to be catching a show at Dr. Phillips, this is a great place to start your evening.

Lake Eola Park

This public park is located downtown and hosts many events throughout the year. Whether anything is going on or not, it is nice to walk around or rent one of the paddle boats and go out on the water.

Downtown Ghost Tour

Choose from either the 2-hour tour or the ultimate 4-hour tour. The Downtown Orlando tour is our longest and most requested tour. It includes history, ghost stories and a brief investigation INSIDE some of our most haunted buildings in downtown. Guests will be issued ghost hunting equipment and of course, they can bring their own to the investigation. This is an ongoing investigation for our team and no two tours are ever alike! The tour is great for all ages and is open year-round.

Wells’ Built Museum

Previous the Wells Built Hotel, this building was converted into the Wells Built Museum of African American History and Culture.

Dr. William Monroe Wells built the hotel and a nearby entertainment venue for African Americans visiting Orlando. During the Segregation era, this hotel served as host to several now-famous African American performers. On February 4, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Discovery Cove is an all-inclusive day resort in Orlando, Florida with one of a kind animal encounters, snorkeling, and beach.

The Discovery Cove day resort has seriously got to be the best-kept secret in Orlando. I know this because I lived in Florida for a year and a half before hearing about Discovery Cove. My friend Erin was going with her husband, and she told me that it’s basically a place to swim with dolphins. You can swim with dolphins, but found it to be so much more after our own personal experience.

When we visited this tropical oasis, we spent a lot of time relaxing on the beach watching the kids swim and play, interacting with animals, and more. Overall, it is an extremely relaxing place to be, unlike many theme parks where you are waiting in line after line.

Swimming with Dolphins at Discovery Cove

Should you pay extra to swim with the bottlenosed dolphins? Yes! Our military family did the Day Resort with Dolphin Swim Package and one of the highlights was definitely the dolphin encounter.

The Day Resort with Dolphin Swim Package is $289 per person. If you are a FL resident the price is $149 per person. They also have special prices for Florida residents and sometimes the military. (Packages also include unlimited admission to SeaWorld® and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark™ in Orlando during your vacation.)

All of my kids were able to participate because they are 13, 10, and 7. (Note: kids have to be at least 6 years old to participate in the dolphin swim.) During the dolphin swim, we got to meet two dolphins and learn all about them. One of them was young and one was old. It was fascinating to see the difference. I never thought about dolphins aging before. For example, the young one looks just like they do in the movies and has all of its teeth still. The old one only had 6 teeth and just looked older. Of course, it was the old one we had to kiss for the pictures!

Everyone gets to kiss the dolphin and take a dolphin ride where the dolphin pulls you through the water. My kids LOVED this. The entire encounter is photographed and videotaped, with the option of purchasing them afterward. I can’t remember how much this cost, but it was not cheap.

I would happily spend another day at Discovery Cove without swimming with the dolphins. It’s one of those things where once is enough.

Animal Encounters

We got to interact with animals quite a bit. Throughout the day we had all kinds of animal interactions. All guests can enjoy these 4 animal experiences.

Grand Reef – That day we swam with manta rays, sharp-toothed reef sharks, nurse shark, and thousands of tropical fish like angelfish in the grand reef.

Freshwater Oasis – Here you can watch otters and marmosets.

Explorer’s Aviary – In this area you can see all kinds of various birds, including a peacock, parrots, and aracaris. You are allowed to hand-feed exotic birds and the bird food is provided for you.

Animal Meet and Greet – Throughout the day there were opportunities to attend an informational session on an animal. Animals we got to see the day we were there were a sloth, a tortoise, and a marmoset. They let us pet a sloth and poise for pictures. There was no additional charge for these meet and greets. There is a little meetup spot where each talk is held. I found that the scheduled animal encounters were highly educational.

Wind-Away River

One of our favorite parts was the lazy river. There are no tubes, but you can get a life jacket or a pool noodle to help you float. There were some deep parts and younger children should be in a life jacket. As you float down it, you enter into an aviary, where you can look at the birds or get up and walk through the aviary and feed the birds.

Food and Drinks Included

As a mom, I loved the fact that the package was all-inclusive. If the kids got thirsty or hungry, they could go up to any snack shack and pick out whatever they wanted like chips. I didn’t hurt that mama could have Pina Coladas all day. Plus, they provided a buffet breakfast and lunch. Breakfast included a variety of options like eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels, croissants, breakfast potatoes, waffles, French toast sticks, and ham. Lunch included sandwiches, burgers, fish, macaroni and cheese, salad, pulled pork, cake, cheesecake, brownies, and more.

Although the tickets are expensive, they are not nearly as expensive when you factor in the admission into Sea World and Aquatica.

How much does Discovery Cove cost?

Prices vary seasonally. The All-Inclusive day resort with the Dolphin Swim Program can cost between $211.94 – $489.90 per person, tax included. Ticket prices go up as the day fills up. Try to buy your tickets well in advance for more savings.

What is the minimum age to swim with dolphins?

Children must be at least 6 years old to swim with dolphins

Do you need a wetsuit?

You do not need to bring a wetsuit. When you enter they will provide you with a wetsuit. If you are doing the dolphin swim, you must wear the wetsuit they provided.

Are towels included?

Yes, Discovery Cove provides a mask and snorkel, towels, and beach chairs. When you leave, you return the towel and snorkel set.

How much does parking cost at Discovery Cove?

Parking is free, your admission includes free parking.

What time should we arrive at Discovery Cove?

The day we went I felt like we were going to be plenty early and we were not. When we pull in there was a large, slow-moving line. They give out time slots of certain activities when you check-in, so I think you should be there no later than 7 AM. If you can get there by 6:45 AM it would be even better.

Volcano Bay Water Park at Universal Orlando

Did you know that there’s a Universal waterpark now? Volcano Bay is one of the best water-based theme parks we’ve been to because it’s jam-packed with all kinds of water slides.

Have you heard about Universal Orlando‘s water park, Volcano Bay?

I finally had the chance to visit Volcano Bay and I was totally blown away. Last year I saw them building it, at that time it was just a month or so from opening. I knew then that it looked pretty great, but from the street, there is no way to fully see how awesome it is. I got to visit Universal recently to cover the opening of the new Fast and Furious ride and the day before I got to spend some time at Volcano Bay. I was a little worried it would not be warm enough, but the water is heated. I didn’t have a towel, but you can rent one inside the park for $5 a day.

Volcano Bay Rides

When you walk in you are greeted as expected by a phenomenal volcano named Krakatau. The pool in front of the volcano is a wave pool named Waturi Beach part of Wave Village.

What I didn’t expect was the backside of the volcano to be jam-packed with rides. I was stunned when I finally walked back there. The entire water park is much larger than it looks when you drive by.

Coming out of the volcano are three drop capsule slides, including Ko’okiri Body Plunge, the tallest body slide in America ranging at 125 feet tall! It is also the first slide to travel through a pool full of guests. I don’t hate this ride, but I don’t really enjoy rides where the floor pulls out from under you. It feels disturbing to me.

Other rides in the volcano:

Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides: These body slides travel through the volcano winding around the Krakatau Aqua Coaster. They also start with trap-door starts. Kala and Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides are also the tallest drop capsule slides in the world at 125 ft.

Krakatau Aqua Coaster: This is a fantastic ride. It is a water coaster that takes riders into the volcano, before plunging through a shimmering waterfall. My friend and I stood around looking at it trying to figure out how it works. I looked it up, it uses linear induction motors to propel riders uphill.

Punga Racers: A four-lane racing slide using mats. I have mixed feelings about this ride. The end was a little too rough for me and at the beginning, I banged my knee up pretty badly.

The various sections of the park are split into areas. The kiddie area is in River Village and Rainforest Village has body slides and raft slides.

River Village

Kopiko Wai Winding River: This is a traditional lazy river that passes through the Krakatau volcano. It has caves and various special effects. You can ride around it with or without an inner tube.
Tot Tiki Reef: A super cute play area designed for toddlers with fun things to do like run through the splash pad, ride small water slides and shoot water guns.
Runamukka Reef: Three stories tall, a water fortress for kids with its own small slides.

Rainforest Village

Taniwa Tubes at Volcano Bay

Maku: Another multi-passenger raft slide aka family raft ride.
Puihi: Multi-passenger rafts drop down into multiple tunnels, then two funnels and a final drop.
Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides: Body slides with tall drops into the splash pools.
TeAwa The Fearless River: This is kind of like a lazy river, but more intense. Everyone has to wear a life jacket to go in and you will be happy they require this!
Taniwha Tubes: Four raft slides and they are super fun.
Puka Uli Lagoon: A pool.

How the TapuTapu wristband system works:

Volcano Bay uses a wearable wristband system called the TapuTapu experience. When you enter they will give you one, then as you leave you return it. The wristband can be used to hold your place in a virtual line instead of standing in long lines for an attraction. While it holds your place on one ride you can go ride other rides that are not experiencing a wait. If all the ride’s wait times are too long just jump into one of the rivers.

You can link a credit card to your band through the Universal Orlando app, which allows you to pay for merchandise, food, and drinks (alcoholic drinks require a government-issued ID) inside the park. This system is referred to as TapTuPay.

The wristbands can also be used to interact with environmental features, set off water springs, or illuminate lights around the park.

Cabanas

The cabanas are not cheap. They start at $159 and go all the way up to $599 depending on what you get. Inside the cabanas is a little electronic thing called a Guest Experience Transformation Tablet that lets you make a reservation for a line for a ride or order food. I had some of their BBQ, the PuPu Platter, with pulled pork, ribs, rice, and pineapple. It was amazing! As a Texas girl, I get a little moody if the BBQ isn’t good! The cabanas also offer:

Towel service – You do not have to bring a towel or rent a towel because they are included. (Otherwise, a towel rental is $5 for the day.)
Padded lounge chairs
Complimentary fruit and snack basket
Small fridge with bottled water
Concierge service

Safety

I felt safe on all rides and appreciated that they make people ride in life vests in the intense river. I noticed up at the top of the rides was special equipment that would help get someone down all those stairs if there was a medical emergency. One of the things I worry about is how I would get my son down from a ride if he had a seizure. I cannot tell you how pleased I was to see this equipment at the park. I also noticed that there were lifeguards everywhere.

The benefits of staying on property:

If you are staying at one of the Universal Orlando hotel resorts you are likely within walking distance of Volcano Bay. I walked over from Cabana Bay Beach Resort and it took no time at all. I went through an entrance just for hotel guests. Cabana Bay is the closest Universal hotel to the water park.

The biggest benefit is being able to access the park an hour earlier than everyone else!

Can’t wait to go back!

Unfortunately, I only had half a day here, it was wonderful, but I didn’t get to ride everything. Hopefully, I can take the kids soon and get their take on it! I feel confident that the entire family including older children will have a wonderful time. As someone that LOVES water parks, I highly recommend this one!

Volcano Bay Tickets

One-day tickets to Volcano Bay start out at $80. It’s a much better deal to buy a multi-day ticket that includes the water park. I find the website painful to use. I recommend checking Viator for lower-priced tickets. It doesn’t cost you any extra. She knows the system, so what would take you hours to figure out, she can figure out in minutes.

Universal Express Pass is available on participating rides and attractions at Universal’s Volcano Bay for $19.99.

Florida Residents: If you are a Florida resident, you by far get the best discount on tickets.

Military discount tickets: Not all military tickets will get you admission to Volcano Bay, so you need to look for the tickets that include it. I recommend the 3-Park, 4-Day Park-to-Park Ticket. These tickets cost: Adult – $239.00 Child (3-9) – $234.00

Volcano Bay Parking

Parking isn’t cheap, it’s $20-$22 for regular or $30 for VIP. It can be a bit difficult to find the parking area. Use 6000 Universal Boulevard
Orlando, FL 32819 to get you close, but once you get close follow the signs instead of your gps. Once you are parked you will need to take a bus to the park.

RV parking is available for slightly more and there’s a kennel located here.

FYI – if you need tickets you can buy them at parking, instead of waiting in line at the water park entrance!

FAQs About Volcano Bay

Can I bring food inside?

You can bring in a soft-sided cooler with snacks like prepackaged food. In fact, all food brought in has to be prepackaged according to the Volcano Bay food policy. You cannot bring in alcohol.

If I leave can I get back in?

Yes, you can leave and come back.

Do I need to bring life jackets?

There is no need to bring a life jacket. They provide life jackets free of charge inside the park and can accommodate all sizes.

Are water shoes/aqua socks allowed?

Fast and Furious Ride at Universal Orlando

Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride is now open at Universal Orlando!

The Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 was a car driven by Roman Pearce in The Fate of the Furious.

Super Star Grand Opening!

The superstars from the Fast & Furious franchise were all there for the opening of the new Fast and Furious – Supercharged ride at Universal Orlando. Celebrities on hand of the opening were star and producer Vin Diesel (Dom), and stars Chris “Ludacris” Bridges (Tej), Tyrese Gibson (Roman) and Jordana Brewster (Mia). Here’s a video of the grand opening.

During the ride experience, guests will join up with the Fast & Furious crew as they feel what it’s like to step into their favorite Fast & Furious film. They have recreated parts of the of the Fast & Furious crew’s warehouse headquarters. As you walk through, you will see actual props, iconic scenes, authentic details and ride alongside fan favorites around San Francisco. The simulations during the bus ride help you feel the speed sensation as you ride along. Before getting to the bus, live actors walk you through different parts of the story leading up to the 2d ride. Although it is a 2d ride it seems like 3d, they’ve used technology that allows you to have a 3d experience without the hassle of 3d glasses.

Cars Featured Throughout the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride

To me the stars of this ride are the cars. They wouldn’t tell us how much they spent on the cars that are on display, but it had to be millions. All the cars are working and could be driven if they put the fluids back in them. There are over a dozen authentic supercharged vehicles from the films on display. In order to learn about all of the cars download the Universal Orlando app. Here are some pictures I manage to get photos of or identify. I am unsure what three of the other cars are. 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona – Here is Dennis McCarthy, the man behind all the cars, standing in front of the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona driven in movie 6 by Vin Diesel which was customized with a lower stance and more narrow nose. He said they gave them a year to build all the cars for display in this ride, which was tons of time since he is used to turning around cars in just days or weeks.
2012 Subaru Impreza WRX STi GH is a major car driven by Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) in Fast and Furious 7.

Paul Walker Tributes

Throughout the entire ride and queue, there are many nods to Paul Walker. His locker is in the warehouse and out front when you walk past the BBQ/picnic scene you will see a beer bottle laying down and that is a tribute to Paul Walker. They also display his Marine travel box shortly after you pass the semi truck. In the War Room a street on their plans is named “Walker Street”.
