Are you looking for a place to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of your daily life? Look no further than Hacienda Encantada Resort and Residences in Los Cabos! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Hacienda Encantada

First things first, the location of Hacienda Encantada Resort sets the tone for your trip. The resort is situated atop a cliff in Cabo San Lucas, offering stunning panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez. The picturesque location is the ideal place for a romantic vacation, a family retreat, or any kind of getaway you need to recharge. The resort has beautifully manicured grounds that are perfect for long walks, and the views from the infinity pools are sure to take your breath away.

Due to the nature of being built along a cliff, there are a lot of stairs and some seriously inclined walking paths. There are golf carts that will pick you up and take you around if this is an issue for you.

Hacienda Encantada Rooms

Hacienda Encantada Rooms

Hacienda Encantada Resort has a variety of suites, villas, and private residences, and all of them are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated to make you feel right at home. The suite I stayed in was equipped with two queen-size beds, a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, and a balcony overlooking the ocean. The bathroom was also immaculate, with plenty of fluffy towels and larger-size shampoos. The room truly exceeded my expectations and they had room service!

All-Inclusve Only area at Hacienda Encantada

There is one tower just for people on the all-inclusive plan and they have their own pool and a pizza place as you can see here.

Hacienda Encantada Restaurants

The next biggest highlight of the resort was, of course, the food. The resort has several restaurants and bars, all with different themes and menus. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and served with such warmth and hospitality. The resort also has a fully stocked mini-market, which came in handy when we needed a quick snack or drink.

Los Riscos Mesquite Grill and Bar

Los Riscos Restaurant at Hacienda Encantada

A standout meal for me was at Los Riscos Mesquite Grill, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner under the stars. If you have an appetite for a succulent steak, juicy chicken, or seafood grilled over Mesquite coals, Los Riscos is the perfect option for you. Enjoy the ambiance of an outdoor cliffside patio with a breathtaking view of the Sea of Cortez while indulging in the delectable flavors of traditional Mexican dishes served in style. The menu includes mouthwatering options such as shrimp cocktails, ceviche, and tasty guacamole prepared before your eyes.

Las Marias

Las Marias 1

This elegant restaurant serves international cuisine with a Mexican twist while offering a fabulous view of the Cabo landscape. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, the perfect setting for couples looking for a delicious dinner out. From seafood and steak to vegetarian options and desserts, Las Marias caters to all palates. They are also open for breakfast and offer an extensive breakfast buffet with a special Mexican coffee.

Barolo Cucina Italiana

Experience the taste of Italy with Barolo Cucina Italiana, known for its authentic Italian cuisine, led by an Italian chef. You can choose from an extensive selection of appetizers, meat, seafood pasta, and dessert. You will be captivated by their rustic and cozy ambiance and even more by their mouth-watering food.

El Eden Tequila & Taco Bar

El Eden Taco and Tequila Bar

Craving authentic Mexican tacos and tequila? El Eden Tequila & Taco Bar is the perfect option for you. Indulge in al pastor tacos, delectable guacamole, and other Mexican street food options along with an unrivaled selection of the best tequila sourced from all around Mexico. You will never regret dining at El Eden with their exceptional ambiance and view but mainly because they are the best tacos I’ve ever had. That’s saying something because my diet mainly consists of tacos.

La Trajinera

Embark on a culinary journey and experience authentic Mexican dishes from different regions of Mexico. You will be welcomed by its vibrant atmosphere with its traditional décor, lovely live music, and amazing fresh Mexican cuisine. From fresh guacamole to delicious regional dishes, La Trajinera offers an unparalleled taste of Mexico.

Amenities

Adults-only pool at Hacienda Encantada

During our stay, we took advantage of the resort’s many amenities. Aside from the stunning infinity pools, there was a full-service spa and a well-equipped fitness center. This is also where you will find cabanas.

Cabanas Hacienda Encantada

Multiple Pools

There’s an adult-only pool, a family pool, and even a few hot tubs. There’s not a dedicated kiddie pool, just the splash area below. But there are two large pools that are family-friendly.

Kids Play Area

Kid's area at Hacienda Encantada Cabo resort

The children’s area has a lot to offer including an extensive splash pad, trampoline, swing set, and more. Kids can also participate in the resort’s Kids Club, which offers a range of supervised activities including arts and crafts, games, and more.

Kid's Club Hacienda Encantada

Milagro Wellness Spa

Hacienda Encantada Spa

I was quite pleased with the spa. Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa offers a variety of treatments designed to help you relax and rejuvenate. Choose from a Swedish massage, hot stone massage, or a variety of other options. I went with the signature massage, a unique, full-body relaxing massage created with a blend of various techniques such as hot stones, deep tissue, and reflexology.

Right before you enter is a juice bar that is included in the all-inclusive package. However, everything just inside the spa is an extra fee. You can show up before your appointment to enjoy their hydrotherapy offerings. There’s a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and a large heated pool with various fountains that offer a type of water massage. The massage rooms are large and have showers in them.

Fitness Center

There are a few places to work out on the property. I mainly stuck to the gym in the building I was staying in since it was the most convenient. I can’t believe I forgot to take a photo of the gym. They had my favorite leg matching and a row machine I enjoyed. They basically had a great mix of everything you could want. No Peleton for those of you into them.

Pickleball, Tennis, and Volleyball Courts

Sand Volleyball court

There were several courts to choose from. Also in this area was a basketball court and a sand volleyball pit.

Bike Trails

The resort has bicycles you can use and if you are up for it they have a biking trail too.

Mini-Golf

There’s a small mini-golf area where you can practice putting near the lobby.

Classes

The resort offers several types of classes, many of which cost an additional fee. I took the tequila-tasting class and it was super informative and fun at Museo del Tequila.

The staff at the resort was always friendly and accommodating, and we truly felt like we were in paradise.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Hacienda Encantada Resort in Los Cabos for your next vacation. This is the perfect destination for anyone looking for luxury, relaxation, and adventure. From the stunning location to the comfortable suites, and impeccable service, the resort exceeded our expectations. The cuisine was delicious, and the amenities were perfect for our needs. It’s safe to say that we’re already planning our next visit to Hacienda Encantada Resort – it’s a truly magical place that we’ll never forget.

Get Travel Insurance

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can go wrong on any trip. Be prepared for the worst with travel insurance. We use Travelex or Safety Wing (often cheaper).

Book Flights

I use Skyscanner to find flights. I use it so much, I wrote an entire guide to finding cheap flights with Skyscanner! Another option for finding deals is FlightHub.

Book a Place to Stay

I recommend using Expedia.com or Hotels.com for most hotel bookings. I prefer to book directly with Marriott when I stay there because of their excellent military discount.

If you prefer staying in a vacation rental instead, I recommend VRBO. If you are looking for a hostel, I use HostelWorld.

Choose Activities and Tours

To find great activities in any area I use Viator. If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass, PogoPass, and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available. Groupon also tends to have a lot of local travel deals.

When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar. They’ve got fantastic weekly deals. If going somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean, I use Apple Vacations.

Are you overdue for a getaway with your girlfriends? After the way the last few years have gone, I am sure that your answer is yes! There are few things in life that can restore you as much as a girl’s trip with your friends. Los Cabos is an excellent choice for your next girlfriend getaway. Here are some tips for planning the entire trip.Cabo Girls Trip

Los Cabos Girlfriend Getaway

I took a fabulous trip to Cabo with my girlfriends a while back. We were delighted with fancy multi-course dinners, relaxing days around the pool, and of course a day at the spa. All of us were left with memories to last a lifetime. Here is everything you need to know to plan your own Cabo girls’ trip.

Stay at an All-Inclusive Resort

You don’t often get to spend time with your girls and you deserve to be spoiled. So, splurge a little and stay at an all-inclusive resort with your girlfriends. Los Cabos has a lot of all-inclusive resorts to choose from, here are three of my personal favorites. Each of these resorts offers rooms with two beds that can sleep up to four people. Remember to factor in dining before you book. You want to stay somewhere you can enjoy lovely meals together.

Hacienda Encantada ResortAdults-only pool at Hacienda Encantada

Indulge in some sun, sand, and spa treatments at Hacienda Encantada it’s the perfect spot for you! This resort is like your own personal sanctuary, with stunning views of the Sea of Cortez and luxurious amenities at every turn. Whether you want to sip margaritas by the pool, treat yourselves to a relaxing massage, or explore the vibrant nightlife of Cabo San Lucas, Hacienda Encantada has got you covered. And I’m not just saying that – I’ve been there myself with my gal pals, and let me tell you, we had the time of our lives. Check rates.

Paradisus

Paradisus Los Cabos

This is an all-inclusive family-friendly resort with a safe swimming beach, six restaurants, and four bars. Plus there is a kid’s club and a spa.

Garza BlancaCabo Garza Blanca

The newest resort in Cabo is Garza Blanca. This is a good option if you do not want all-inclusive because they offer a lower-cost European plan or if you want a multi-room suite everyone can share. They have three restaurants and eight pools.

Sandos Finisterra

If you are wanting to stay in town this is a great option. Just across the street is the marina and a few steps further shopping, restaurants, and bars. They have eight restaurants, several bars, and a dance club. This resort also offers multi-room suites.

Grand Fiesta Americana

Sandos Finisterra

Located in Cabo San Lucas, Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos All Inclusive Golf & Spa is next to a golf course and on a private beach. It is family-friendly and has loads of amenities like free airport transfer.

Marina Fiesta

Marina Fiesta in Cabo has everything you could possibly need for a fun and unforgettable vacation with your besties. From delicious cocktails and fine dining to a stunning pool and luxurious spa, Marina Fiesta has it all. Check current rates

Indulgent SpasThe spa at Paradisus Los Cabos

Staying at an all-inclusive resort is not the only way to be pampered. Step the pampering up a notch by spending a day at the spa. Cabo has an abundance of glorious spas ensuring you will find one that offers what you are looking for. I recommend finding one with lots of included amenities like hydrotherapy and remember, you do not have to be staying at a property to visit their spa.

Beach TimeBagatelle Los Cabos

You cannot spend time in Cabo and not spend time at the beach. Hopefully, the resort you stay at includes cabana service, because there are few things more enjoyable than lounging on the beach while someone brings you fruity drinks. Depending on where you stay, they may or may not have a swimmable beach. If they do not, don’t fret because Los Cabos boasts 19 blue flag-certified beaches. Ask your concierge for a recommendation near your resort.

Fun Activities in Los CabosRide a Camel in Cabo

The area has no shortage of activities, and it will be easy to find an activity that the entire group will want to do. No matter what you decide to do or not do, be sure to go snorkeling. Los Cabos is home to a spectacular reef.

For an out-of-the-box experience, go on a camel ride down the beach or swim with whale sharks.

For a killer photo opportunity, take a sunset cruise, and wear colorful, flowing dresses. That is what we are doing in several of the photos above.

For a truly unique experience, try the Barefoot Elegance & Gourmet Dining on the beach at Grand Fiesta Americana. This experience starts by smashing grapes with your feet down at the beach around a fire. This is followed by a foot massage and a wine tasting and ends with a gourmet meal at the beach.Grand Fiesta Americana

Tequila tasting is also quite fun. The more you taste the more enjoyable it becomes!Cabo tequila tasting

Pool Timethe pool at Paradisus Los Cabos

With 350 days of sunshine year-round, most days will be a great day for the pool. Take advantage of that all-inclusive plan, and park yourself at the swim-up bar and catch up with your friends over drinks.

There is a lot going on in the downtown area. Be sure to have lunch at Baja Lobster Company. It’s fantastic, especially the lobster tacos!Baja Lobster Company Los Cabos

Nightlife

Downtown Cabo San Lucas, near the marina, is packed full of festive bars, where you will find themed bars and heart-pumping dance clubs. Here you will find Fat Tuesday, Senior Frogs, and Nowhere Bar, known for celebrity sightings. One way to add fun and capture great photos is to have a color theme on your night out! We all dressed up in white one night. If you are worried about going out, consider doing an organized bar crawl tour instead. Either way, remember to always stick with your girls when going out.

With something for everyone, a trip to Cabo is sure to be a success. So, don’t delay, grab your BFF’s and start planning your Los Cabos girlfriend getaway.

The post 10 Fun Things To Do In Los Cabos, Mexico appeared first on Mommy Travels.

]]>
Located on the end of the Baja California Peninsula, Los Cabo provides a sunny destination for those trying to escape the winter. The municipality of Los Cabo encompasses the towns of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.

With 20 miles of road (called the Corridor) between them, staying in either town puts you front and center to watersports, sandy beaches, and ocean-going excursions.

Fun Things to do in Los Cabos

Some arrive in Cabo San Lucas on a Mexican Riviera cruise, while others fly in and stay at an all-inclusive resort. However you choose to visit, here are some fun things to do in Los Cabos.

See El Arco El Arco or The Arch, Los Cabos

El Arco, or The Arch, is a beautiful rock formation where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. This picture-perfect image is what sells Cabo San Lucas as a travel destination.

To get a closer view, head out on the water in an inexpensive glass-bottom boat. If you have snorkel gear, you have the option to take a dip and swim amongst the tropical fish in calm waters.

The trip allows you to see Lovers and Divorce Beaches too. As the names suggest, Lovers Beach sits on the Sea of Cortez and has gentle water lapping at its beach. It’s the picture of tranquility.

In contrast, Divorce Beach faces the Pacific Ocean. You can’t swim here because the angry surf pounds the beach and has strong riptides.

The rocks around El Arco are an ideal place to spot sea lions who bask in the sun and sometimes break the silence with their noisy barks.

Go Whale Watching A humpback whale breaching in Cabo San Lucas

If you visit Los Cabos between December and April, it’s an ideal time to go whale watching in Cabo. During this time, gray and humpback whales migrate to the warm waters of Mexico to mate and give birth.

You can choose from a zodiac small boat tour or a larger catamaran excursion. While the zodiac can maneuver quickly and gets you to the whales faster, those prone to motion sickness should stick to the larger vessel.

The catamaran’s larger size is more suited to families. Operators often supply free drinks and snack food too. With a stable boat, you’ll capture amazing pictures if you’re an amateur photographer.

Parasail With A Friend

While there are numerous places to go parasailing around the world, you can do it cheaply in Mexico. Some areas offer parasailing from the beach, but in Los Cabos, you’ll take to the skies from the back of a boat.

Unlike tours in Mazatlan, which are for solo flyers, in Los Cabos, you can do the excursion with a family member or friend (if you can convince them to tag along).

Boats use a winch system to allow you to float upwards. You’ll only “fly” for about 10 minutes, depending on how many people participate, but you’ll reach heights of 500 feet! If you take an excursion in Cabo San Lucas, you’ll have a chance to fly over El Arco.

Take A Paraglider Excursion

If you’re not afraid of heights and prefer to do something unique, you can go paragliding instead of parasailing. Don’t worry; you’ll be accompanied by a licensed pilot who will operate the glider.

During whale watching season between December and April, you could enjoy aerial views of majestic whales in the Pacific Ocean. How cool is that?

The only downside to paragliding is there’s only room for one.

Ride A CamelRide a camel in Los Cabos1

You don’t need to travel to Egypt to ride a camel. The Camel Safari Adventure might be one of the strangest things to do in Los Cabos, but you’re on vacation, so anything goes.

The minimum age is five years, making it the perfect family outing. After your ride along a secluded beach, you’ll return to the camel sanctuary to learn about the fauna and flora.

Then, you’ll complete your tour with freshly made tacos or an authentic Mexican meal and tequila tasting for the adults.

Play A Round Of Golf

Los Cabos offers several world-class golf courses, and all come with spectacular views. Who can resist a few rounds when you have the Sea of Cortez on one side and the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains on the other?

However, some prized golf courses are only accessible to guests staying at their resorts. So, if you’re an avid golfer, you’ll want to choose your hotel wisely, to get the bragging rights of golfing at Quivira, Jack Nicklaus’ course.

Try Sportfishing Sea lion on the back of a fishing boat

San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are renowned for their deep-sea fishing. Anglers specifically travel to Los Cabos to try their luck at catching a giant Marlin. It’s the “Marlin capital of the world” for a reason.

While it’s Marlin central, you could catch a trophy-sized tuna, sailfish, swordfish, Wahoo, or Yellow Tail. Most of the species are “catch and release,” ensuring the fish population thrives for another year.

However, should you catch that “big one,” the operator will document it with photos. On your return trip to the harbor, sea lions often hitch a ride as the crew feeds them scraps. It’s extra entertainment you didn’t pay for.

Be A Pirate For A DayBuccaneer Queen pirate ship

Move over Jack Sparrow, there’s a new buccaneer in town. Hop aboard the Buccaneer Queen or Cabo Legend in search of sunken treasure or pirate loot.

The pirate-themed excursion includes some squash-buckling fun and a hearty meal. You’ll hear pirate stories during the cruise and watch a high-energy show. It’s great entertainment for kids and families.

Guests have a choice of a daytime sail or a sunset cruise. The daytime tour includes snorkeling at Chileno Bay and lunch. The sunset sail is more interactive and a must for all aspiring pirates.

Ziplining

If rappelling over a steep canyon at 60 mph is more your speed, Los Cabos offers several options. Newcomers to the adrenaline sport might prefer Wild Canyon Cabo Zipline. They have different lines, some suited to beginners.

Near San José del Cabo, Costa Azul has eight zip lines over a desert canopy and includes a 160-foot suspension bridge. If you prefer a shaded canopy, head to the Boca de Sierra National Park instead.

For the ultimate adventure, purchase a Wild Canyon Pass at Wild Canyon Park. The pass includes unlimited access to certain activities. You can zip line, go horseback riding, try e-bikes, walk across hanging bridges, and more.

Your day pass includes one-time use of ATVs, UTVs, and a camel ride. Included in your $179 ticket is one ultimate thrill of either a bungee jump or a giant swing across the canyon.

Learn To Cook Mexican Food

While the Pacific Coastal towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo offer many thrilling excursions, there are some which allow you to keep your feet on the ground.

On a farm-to-table cooking class, you’ll shop for your ingredients at a local market and learn how to prepare simple Mexican classics. By learning the techniques of making corn tortillas, guacamole, and salsa, you can replicate these at home.

Alternatively, you can take an all-day cooking class which allows you to make a four-course meal with chicken, fish, and the freshest seafood.

Conclusion

Los Cabos may offer some thrilling tours, but it provides relaxation too. Many beaches, such as Chileno, Medano, Hacienda, and La Gaviota Beach, have beautiful sand and calm water, ideal for swimming.

To escape the sun, add an art tour or shop for authentic Mexican souvenirs. Since experiences cost less than other destinations, it’s an ideal place to enjoy a spa day or get a relaxing massage.

Whether you travel to Los Cabos for a destination wedding or to escape the winter, its idyllic weather, flavorful cuisine, and stunning beaches will make you plan another visit.

img 5721I just visited Los Cabos for the first time and I was totally blown away. The area is beautiful and has so much to offer. I am already planning a trip back with the kids.

While I was there I stayed at Paradisus an all-inclusive family friendly resort in San José del Cabo just 24km from San Jose del Cabo airport. During my stay I was treated to indulgent multi-course dinners, peaceful moments around the pool, and I even manage to spend a little time at their spa. I found the resort to be quite peaceful. There was zero party vibe.

Paradisus Cabo All-inclusive Perks

As I mentioned already Paradisus is an all-inclusive family friendly resort. The all-inclusive benefits are wide ranging. You can upgrade to a Royal experience which gets you a butler and a private lounge or if you are traveling with your family, there’s an upgrade just for families with its own lounge, concierge and other perks. I am only breaking down the all-inclusive amenities that everyone receives without doing some sort of upgrade.

24 Hour Room Service

Room service is available at all times. Be sure to order wine by the glass otherwise you will be charged for the whole bottle. Just a heads up, I struggled ordering room service in English and my order was quite interesting. Tasty, but not what I ordered.

Multiple Restaurants and Bars

There are six restaurants at the resort which include a Mexican restaurant, a small buffet, Asian restaurant, a steakhouse, and more.

There’s also four bars including a rooftop bar with some fantastic views.

Kid’s Club

There’s a Kids Zone, with supervised activities and children’s games. This Mini Club is for children between the ages of 4 – 12 years old. The kid’s club is open 7 days a week at no extra cost. It features the following:

 • Kids’ lounge, lunch and drinks
 • Creative space
 • Piñatas
 • Mini Olympics
 • Face painting
 • Treasure hunts

For Teenagers

There is a program for teens, but I never discovered if there was a designated room for teens. Activities just for teens include:

 • Volleyball
 • Beach Games
 • PlayStation 4
 • Xbox One
 • Football table
 • Water basketball
 • Water polo
 • Giant chess
 • Movie nights

Included Activities for Everyone

They offer a wide range of classes including Latin dance classes, sushi classes, cigar rolling, art , wine and cheese tasting, tequila and Mezcal tasting, and mixology classes.

They also offer a range and health and wellness activities including: meditation, stretching, water exercises, power dance, beach volleyball, ping pong, and horseshoes.

Spacious Rooms

Guestrooms and suites include: fully stocked mini bar, laptop size safe, 50” flat screen TV and balcony or terrace. The swim-up suites provide access to the 3 new pools, but I sadly did not have a swim up suite. My room had two beds and could sleep four people, no problem. Every room has aromatherapy.

My room had a balcony overlooking the pool. I think if I had been on a higher floor I would have been able to see the ocean.

Yhi Spaimg 5798

While staying here I had the chance to visit the spa briefly. Both the steam room and sauna used eucalyptus, which is one of my favorite things. It’s nice to be able to clear your head, when you are allergy prone like me. Sadly, I did not have a chance to experience any of their treatments. But I did get to do the hydrotherapy in their outdoor pool. That’s a picture of half the hydrotherapy pool, I couldn’t get one of the whole thing because there were two dudes on the other end.

Spa amenities:

 • Two cabins for couples
 • Four single cabins
 • Beauty salon
 • Wet areas and changing rooms
 • Steam bath, sauna and pool
 • Relaxation area
 • Gym

You do not have to stay at a specific resort in Cabo to access their spa, including this one. You can book any treatment and you will get right in.

Safe Swimming Beach

You cannot visit Mexico and not spend time at the beach, it’s an unspoken requirement. Much to my surprise many of the resorts do not have a swimmable beach. If they do not, there are other options. Los Cabos boasts 19 blue flag certified beaches. Ask your concierge for a good recommendation near your resort.

Pool Timeimg 5904

With 350 days of sunshine year round, I spent a lot of time at the swimming pool. I immensely enjoyed the swim up bar and catching up with friends over drinks.9c57db23 eafb 40bd 9584 a3b9fda1366c

Should You Get Travel Insurance for Mexico?

Don’t forget travel insurance! I’m a fan of Travelex insurance, because of the variety of options. Protect yourself from possible injury & theft abroad. I have gotten extremely sick twice now out of the country and Noah has had seizures in other countries, so I always recommend getting some sort of coverage.
